Excellent news. An already near-impossible field to get into in the UK just got more impossible. Thanks Osborne.
How the hell did we manage to get a Tory government again, seriously.

Funny listening to a man who is sitting on a small personal fortune tell you about 'tough times'. Funny and disgusting.

It's sad news indeed, but that's what you get with the Tory government. @ Raylax, I really don't know.

Yes. Because the UK is totally going to overtake America and Japan in the gaming business overnight with a tax break AM I RITE.

Some news has broken through regarding why this may have been scrapped. If this is true, then I'd really love to know who the F***ers are that sabotaged it. My guess is towards someone big like Activision or EA.

Why the hell would Activision or EA care? If they don't already have UK development teams, they would just set them up to take advantage of the tax breaks - they're the multinational companies of the games industry. EA and Activision are remarkably well-run companies, neither would lobby against something they could easily twist to their advantage.

IF indeed that RUMOUR is true, the company that lobbied to have it canned would be far more likely to be one with a minimal developer presence in the UK, but a major stake in the industry. Say hello, Nintendo.

The flippant person in me says it was probably Ubisoft though, because the French hate the English, right?
