When i was young, there were instruction booklets for tutorials. Nowadays too many games are telling me how to open a door by pressing a button. I'm sick of it.

Games these days are so complicated they need tutorials, but I wish they were separate from the main game or optional. I actually avoid replaying the 3D Zeldas because there's so much talking at the beginning of each one. It's helpful the first time, but you're forced to reread the same junk you already know from the first playthrough. Turok 64 is the perfect model. Remember how they did Training Mode? It was a 5 minute level that wasn't connected in any way to the campaign.

Do we really need to go through this again? Please feel free to use your original thread if you'd like to continue belaboring the point, Faron, but tutorials and on-screen notes have been a part of games for a long time now, and they seem to be here to stay..
