Going slightly off topic here, I seem to remember hearing that House of the Dead: Overkill was one of the most pirated Wii games last year. That game could have really benefited from the extra sales.
I agree with every word in the above post except that last sentence.
The last sentence was my "DRIVE MY POINT HOME WITH DRAMATISATION SO NO ONE IN THE WORLD WILL EVER PIRATE AGAIN LOLOLOL 8D" section. I said "may" because theoretically, games could fail and studios close down as a result of piracy. Theoretically. Piracy is obviously enough of an issue in terms of lost sales that many big names are resorting to less-than-ideal measures like DRM, which just inconvenience legitimate customers.
no, you should not turn him in. your not gonna get any reward for turning him in since this isnt a big government crime so just let things run its course

if anyone on this thread claims he has never downloaded any illegal software, movies, music or any of those kind of things, I simply do not believe that.

It's not like pirating one copy of a game is going to drastically effect sales...
If one person pirates a game, that's a few hundred dollars lost. Look at NSMBWii. An Australian pirated it, a week before release, that was one copy, now he is paying back 15 million in damages.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Well I can't argue in favor of the guy. He probably is poor but that's because he's still living at home with his parents and going to school. There's no justification for his actions it just is what it is but don't be a little weasel and report him. There's more important things to worry about.
@brooks83: what you can do is flag their posts; Craigslist is supposed to be taking down stuff that's illegal if it's reported ('prohibited' is the flag you want to use, it's in the box in the upper right-hand corner of the Craigslist ad). attempting to make money off of it by reporting them to Crimestoppers would be abusing what that hotline is really for (tips on robberies, assaults, drug dealing, and the like). the police are looking to tips on active or unsolved cases in order to arrest people and put them behind bars, not to fine them or haul them in for game companies to wag their fingers at them and possibly file a lawsuit.
