@TheoneHacker: What. The. Friiiiiiiiiiiiiicccccccccckkkkkk!!!!!! @Captain_Balko: This is why I always assume a light-hearted nature whenever I play any video game of any sort.
Final Fantasy. Just let it rest Square-Enix, you're changing it way to much.
They changed it radically with every game since the beginning, though, so how is that any different from what they used to do?
Not to the point where it changed sub-genres. It went from a JRPG to a ARPG. Its feels like they are wasting millions to try to mainstream the games and changing it to much for fans of the older games. I understand trying to change it up, but I would prefer they change it while keeping the battle system basically the same.

They haven't kept the same battle system since Final Fantasy 3. And the gameplay has been evolving towards action-based combat since FF4. I can understand not liking the changes, but I don't see why the series should stop just because it's evolved beyond your particular tastes.

They have definitely alienated me as a fan. I knew when they made FFX-2 that I was, essentially, done with FF.
I don't know what I dislike more; the realization of what the FF series has become or the fact that (besides spinoffs) there aren't any recent FF games on a Nintendo console (not talking handhelds).

Well this is an opinion topic, so I just gave my opinion of a series that should stop (or reevaluate what they are doing) . Anyways, most companies use spin-offs to do different genres. I mean what Square is doing to FF, is almost equivalent to what Capcom is doing to Resident Evil.
Oh And Iphone games that offer improvements to the console game. (i.e Christan Whitehead's Sonic the Hedgehog. Improved Physics and Tails and Knuckles included.) but never gives it to the console owners.

Okay, I think I'm starting to get where you're coming from now that you've made the right comparison. I still stand by my previous statement, though. Nearly every main series game has felt more and more like a spin-off since FF4, at least for me. It just seems more like the natural evolution to me, and quite frankly, I've always wanted an FF game like XV. That's just my opinion, though. I also thought Resident Evil 4-6 was more of a natural progression than most others seem to, so maybe you'll see where I'm coming from, too.
