It's a little Negative and a little Flame war worthy, but we always have franchises that overstated their Welcome, here's mine.
1. CoD, no need for explaination.
2. Final Fantasy: FF13, just showed that FF is starting to run out of ideas.
Now it's your turn! Now Activate your Flame shield, get ready! 3,2,1, GO!!

Most franchises could do with a breather. I've played nearly all the Zeldas and they could really do with a lie down for a few years. The New Super Mario Bros series has earned a couple of decades off. Final Fantasy, as you said. Forza seems to have shot from 2 to 5 in no time at all. Assassin's Creed has all sorts sprouting up.

Top of the list though is Resident Evil. I don't want to see 7 for a LONG time.

stop forever? I don't know I believe every franchise feels like this when they get a new chance:

goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

Not Pokemon

Exactly. IMO, Pokémon is on track to end up like Looney Tunes and still be around and popular 70 years in the future.

hey Nintendo! Pokémon needs a rest!!!!! make a 17520 hour long main story for X and Y so the developers can rest a little!!!!
but in reality I think that even with 2 whole years of story mode Pokémon wouldn't need rest!!!!

Pokémon, assuming it follows its trend of not changing ever. Normally it wouldn't do a franchise harm to not change assuming it was still fun, but Pokémon makes more and more of its creatures obsolete every generation, and when they release two new games for a new feature being 'Making Pokémon movies' you know its going nowhere.

EVERY. GAME. NEEDS. A. SECOND. CHANCE! if you think otherwise you're no better than Capcom killing off Megaman

It's such a polar-opposite view of Pokémon in this thread... over in the X & Y thread, everyone's extremely excited, and talking about how much everything has changed... over here, it's "Pokémon's always the same, Pokémon go away"...

Well its only fair that the people who are cynical about Pokémon don't go into the thread to talk about how bad the franchise is.
For Pokémon fans X/Y are a big change, but that doesn't say much.
