And kkslider you won a spot in my heart for Kimbra.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
@lz: i took it straight from what that user posted, lol. You missed the 'then', btw (should be 'than' in that instance), so does that mean I get to average out to a C? :3
That said, I was trying to show how these sorts of complaints look in general to someone who's heard it all before (sorry to have singled you out as an example, Cr1TiKal, but the timing was perfect and so was your mini-rant :3). You can apply them to anything and they still look like someone could seriously have said them and meant them whole-heartedly, and they come off as ridiculous after the zillionth time you've heard that sort of complaint, y'know? Life's too short to spend so much time moaning about how music (or anything else) just wasn't what it used to be, and there's so much of it out there that's absolutely wonderful, it makes no sense to not focus on what you do like instead of what you don't. :3
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3

I'm a 13 year old and I have to agree that a multitude of modern (subject nouns) are quite rubbish. Kids these days care more about how (adjective) they find the (job title) or the (nouns) then (nouns), the things that make it (noun or adjective). And don't get me started on (subtype of first noun). (opposing subtype) was just so much better.
here's mine:
I'm a 13 year old and I have to agree that a multitude of modern dogs are quite rubbish. Kids these days care more about how smelly they find the policeman or the carrots then boats, the things that make it food. And don't get me started on dobermans. Chihuahuas was just so much better.
Really? Discounting an entire genre? I'm not a huge rap person myself, although there are plenty of rap songs I like, but some rappers are technically amazing in what they can accomplish, and brilliant lyricists too.
I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.

Kimbra is quite wonderful. Hope she finds relevence in America beyond being the featured artist in what is sadly inevitably a one hit wonder (or maybe not, if Owl City can get another hit...)
also, if we're talking about rap, listen to Lose Yourself or some of Lupe Fiasco's songs and say that again, I dare you.
also, if we're talking about rap, listen to Lose Yourself...
Eminem is the closest to a good rapper I know. His lyrics are good, but, and Lose Yourself is a good example of this - His songs sound repetitive and boring. At least lately, some of his old stuff were actually pretty lively and varied in its beat and rhythm. (but then the lyrics weren't as good, so it's a trade off, I guess)
@MadAussieBloke - The 4th and 5th videos were okay at least. Better than a lot of rap I've heard at least. He has an odd accent, though, which makes it so that the lyrics don't go down easy, if you know what I mean.
@MadAussieBlock: While that stuff sounds fine, I tend to think that a lot of Aussie hip-hop sounds the same (which I'll admit is probably largely to my ignorance). I don't think it sounds bad, far from it, but I really struggle to differentiate bands if they come on Triple J or whatnot.
Having said that, I think it's great that Aussie hip hop has developed its own style - always nice to have a home-grown version of things!

@Wheels Yeah I'm not a fan of anything played on radio stations. I tend to favour all the underground groups bro Clandestien have been around for over 10 years now with something like 12 albums and released a newie 2 months ago so its more of a respect for their work ethic and longegivity in the game and different sound compared to the samey stuff within the X charts that wins my vote.

I have to say in my defense that it was quite late when I had typed that, so I forgot to spell-check as I usually do. I find it hard to believe that I missed that. Also,as for my comment about rap, rap isn't really music. It's talking quickly. I admit that there are good rappers, but rapping isn't singing. It has rhythm, but it lacks pitch. Also, I will post some of my favorites on the music thread since somebody requested that.
