Seeing how lots of people have probably signed up for Netflix Instant now that it's on Wii, it'd be good if we had a thread dedicated to what's actually worth watching on it. So here's a couple of my own recommendations to get the ball rolling:

Movies

Labyrinth — David Bowie and Jim Henson team up in this awesome 80's fantasy movie about a girl who must rescue her younger sibling from the Goblin King.
Oldboy (R) — Classic Korean revenge tale. First in the series, with the others being Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Lady Vengeance, both also on Instant.
Ponyo — A Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli joint with a star-studded English voice cast. Basically a reinterpretation of the Little Mermaid story.

TV

Dexter, seasons 1 & 2 (TV-MA) — Fantastic, pretty disturbing show about a Miami forensics expert (blood splatter, specifically) who is a serial killer. Very well known, but if you don't have Showtime then Instant is a great way to get into this one.
30 Rock — One of my favorite shows on TV, Instant currently has all seasons on DVD available for streaming.

Documentary

This FIlm Is Not Yet Rated — A look at the MPAA's obtuse, controversial and inconsistent method of rating movies.
Helvetica — A documentary about a font sounds like a massive snore fest, but it's a surprisingly interesting look at how pervasive it's become in design and pop culture. Basically, it's everywhere. You're probably reading it right now actually.
I Think We're Alone Now — Haven't seen it yet but heard very good things about it. Description: "This documentary focuses on two individuals obsessed with 1980s pop star Tiffany: Jeff, a 50-year-old man with Asperger's syndrome, and Kelly, an 'intersexual' who claims to have had an inspirational friendship with the singer when they were teens. While others have called Jeff and Kelly stalkers, the film reveals that in their shared world the two outcasts understand that having something -- anything--to believe in is what life is all about."

Gaming

Super Mario Bros. Super Show — Do the Mario! And then cry some.
Devil May Cry — Only seen one episode so far, but it's the anime for the series. Pretty much as I expected it to be.

I'm pretty sure Firefly is on instant - I own the DVD set, though, so I haven't checked. Anyway, love that show. It's a scifi series with lots of Old West themes.

Oh yes, and Doctor Who is cheesy fun too.

Good idea Jon! I recommend the Wallace and Gromit series. I found a collection of 3 episodes for streaming. I also have The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, Gamer, and Batman: Mask of the Phantasm ready to watch (haven't seen them yet though).

Heres my recommendations

TV Shows:

Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman: I liked this Superman tv series alot better than Smallville. Dean Cain as Clark Kent and Superman Terri Hatcher as Lois Lane. This series focused more on Clark Kent as the main character and Superman as the alter ego. I also like the guy you played Lex Luthor in this series probably one of the best.

Xena Warrior: Princess Sam Raimi director, ancient Greek background and Lucy Lawless in a leather outfit kicken butt enough said.

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys: Also directed by Sam Raimi that stars Kevin Sorbo as Herc. If you like Xena than you would like this as well since these shows pretty much go hand in hand.

A-Team: This one is a bit of nostalgia for me since I use to watch the shows when I was a little kid still just as good as I remember it. There are some campy 1980s part but hey you cant have an 80s tv show without it.

Avatar: The Last Airbender. I loved the show but whenever they showed it on tv I would catch an episode here and there never knew what was going on till I was able to stream the whole series from Netflix.

Mythbusters: Two guys with a background in speical effects use science to test different myths stuff like if a ship goes down does it suck you down with it and what makes Mentos and Diet Coke shoot up. After they test the myths they rate them as either Plausible, Busted or Confirmed.

Movies:

Star Trek (2009) A good remake IMO I sat down and watched it with the expectation that it was going to suck and I was surprised.

Thats all I can think of now I will probably add more later on.

oh awesome, they put Ponyo on Instant? hells yeah! anyway, my recommendations:

Movies

Bronson -- the story of Charles Bronson, "the most violent prisoner in Britain". Most of the movie is based on fact, and the man playing Bronson himself did an amazing job (almost matches the images of the man perfectly) but i was amazed at how full of hilarity it was. If you like dry British humor, give it a shot.
Ichi -- a blind swordswoman in old Japan travels to find her long-lost mentor. features some seriously awesome fighting. the only drawback is that we couldn't figure out how to get it subtitled as opposed to dubbed, though the dub isn't all that bad.
The Commitments -- i don't really know how to describe it... this kid in Ireland wants to start a band, holds auditions and chooses people and stuff, and then it follows them from their start to when they finally split. it was really a great movie, and the music was surprisingly amazing.
Up -- Pixar outdid themselves again with another wonderful story, and of course the visuals to match. i never did see it in theaters but finally had the chance recently thanks to Netflix... an excellent movie, really tugs at the heartstrings.

TV

FarScape -- if you like cheesy mid-90's SciFi Channel fare, this is for you. this astronaut goes to outer space to perform an experimental flight and winds up halfway across the galaxy. he hooks up with a group of fugitive prisoners on their living ship and they kinda go along trying to stay away from their former captors and having adventures and the dude wants to go home. good series, but the theme music is weird :3
Battlestar Galactica (TOS) -- cheesy late-70's sci-fi fare at its best! good times, good times. heavy on the moralism sometimes, but it's just got that old-school charm that drew me in :3
Soap -- another older show, this one a big fat parody of cheesy soap operas and their drama~ it is good times.

TV

I also agree with Dexter seasons 1&2. If you haven't seen Dexter you are seriously missing out

Stargate SG-1, Atlantis and Stargate Universe Season 1: Yes all three Stargate series are available instantly. So much good stuff if you are a Sci-Fi fan. These will keep you busy for a while.

Babylon 5 seasons 1-5 and The Lost Tales: Another great Sci-Fi show. Season 1 was a little lukewarm, but it gets better from there. Everything is linked all throughout the seasons. Love it.

I will think of more later but i gotta get ready for class right now.

This is the only Charles Bronson that matters:

In all seriousness, I actually have seen it. My verdict: Pretty darn good.

INK!!! That movie alone made Netflix worth it for me, I never would have saw it otherwise.

And, since it's Halloween, here's some good horror movies: Session 9, The Orphanage, and Candyman.

Yeah, District 9 rocks.

OH! District B13 is also amazing. All the stunts were done without ropes or anything else like that.

I also watched The Men Who Stare At Goats. It's a very good movie, but not as funny as I expected. Great actors though! I love Jeff Bridges
