Topic: Thoughts on the chance of any Kingdom Hearts game coming to the Switch?

With the series hitting KH3 soon, I've pondered the possibility of whether or not Nintendo gamers would be able to see it, or any other parts of the series. I'd understand it if the latest entry didn't make it to the Switch, due to system limitations, but other entries seem like fair game. KH1 and 2 were PS2 titles, and I think certain versions of the remixes could work well for the Switch. There are also cases of original titles that were on Nintendo systems, specifically 358/2 Days and Dream Drop Distance, with Re:coded having been ported from phones to the DS.

I can see merit in Square Enix making some sort of collections for the Switch, although I mainly see this being possible if there were to be a KH3 announcement for Switch which I'm not holding my breath for. At the same time, the series is generally pretty well-liked, and having a shot at KH on the go may be a worthwhile investment.

What do you think?

I think there will be a chance for Kingdom Hearts for Switch.
SquareEnix released the Dream Drop Distance for 3DS, So there is No Excuse to Not released KH 1.5 + 2.5 for Switch as World of Final Fantasy , FF X & FF X-2 has been released on psvita.
If that true, i will Gleefully "Eliminate" my PS4 version games, choose to play Switch version instead.

@faint Yeah, like I said, I can live with that. Development on KH3 started on the more advanced consoles, and it's pretty clear that they the most polished visually. I'm mainly banking on the remixes, since the side games haven't really been remastered-Birth By Sleep being exception due to how important it is to the story.

Ideally, I would want a Bayonetta situation where you can buy one remix, and get the other at a discount. They've done it before on PS4, so that would be a good way to go about it.

It's almost certain we'll see something, I suspect a new game tbh. Every Nintendo generation has had a KH game or two. That said... I'd expect a release date circa 2021, some sort of spinoff taking place post 3.

The Switch could almost certainly run the PS3 versions of KH1 and 2. And frankly they probably could scale down and release a later version of KH3 on the Switch as well.

But will they? I haven't seen any indications of Square Enix doing that. They seem dead set on feeding the Switch indie-level and B-grade titles and it baffles me as to why.

Hope you enjoy Kingdom Hearts: Drowning of the 1337 Mind and Kingdom Hearts: Decadent Switch / 12 or whatever nonsensical title about nonsensical yet generic animu half-retelling story thing that inexplicably is required to understand the main games' storyline.

Spin-Offs: Yes. KH3: Possibly.

As for KH1+2 & subsequently the remix collections, I’m fairly certain that there are some licensing/exclusivity issues that prevent them from going to other consoles.

That’s what most tend to believe anyways. I think it’s probably true as it’s the only logical explanation why KH1.5+2.5 ReMIX isn’t on XB1, which will be getting KH3.

Having said that, KH3 will be the end of the Xehanort saga & I expect any future games to be multiplatform from here on out.
