Two great musicians. The potential is there, but as you said, with these hybrid groups it's usually either really good or really bad.

I have mixed reactions because Radiohead is my favorite band and Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of my least favorite bands...so...yeah let's hope for some HQ Youtube videos of their first performance.

I think it will at least be interesting. Can't wait to hear it. Thom is genius!

Hmmmmm. Talk about weird! I just can't see Thom getting funky with Flea spewing out jams.

Hmm. Not sure about this one. As long as Flea lets Thom do all the work it should be great If not it'll end up sounding like every other RHCP song. Sorry but 'Flea' is not fit to clean Thom's shoes IMO.

What's this bit for again?

I think Thom is overrated as are Radiohead.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion of course, but Radiohead defined modern alternative music, and continue to innovate and reinvent themselves, while RHCP haven't really done anything truely different since the 90's. I don't mind people that don't like Radiohead (their music certainly isn't for everyone) so long as they respect them.

And as for Flea, there's no denying the guy is really talented. He and Thom are good buddies, so as long as they get along I can't see this being a huge failure.

Here, here, Flea on the other hand is one of the best bassist's alive today, people don't seem to acknowledge he can play a lot more than just slap bass and funk, I think this will be a interesting experiment.

I know, right?! James Mercer from the Shins and Dangermouse just started a new band, Scarlett Johanson and Pete Yorn of all people did an album together--wonder what sparked this new trend?

Erm.. pretty much all of By the way is Melodic bass playing and not slap/funk, I will give you both a lesson in good musical taste one day

OldBoy

If it involves listening to a lot of RHCP albums then I'll pass thanks , I think I'm busy that day anyway, sticking red hot pokers in my eyes

Cheeky Monkey.

I would personally rather grate my ears off than listen to Radiohead, I acknowledge they are a good band, but too depressing for my liking. Each to their own I guess.

Exactly . It's all good dude Never understood people who argue about musical tastes. Variety is the spice of life after all. Oh and there is a couple of RHCP songs I like I'll admit, it's just that I find them a bit samey after a while. Careful with that grater man

I find the Peppers and Radiohead a bit too "soft" for my taste. But it's all a matter of taste. I'm on this Hatebreed kick lately.
