Topic: This website redesign!

Welp I can't load comments on the phone anymore for some reason. Guess I won't be commenting much on the site anymore.

Kinda wished we could make it darker...I prefer darker colors.

So what's this new "discussions" tab? And putting in your youtube channel...the link it creates doesn't work.

But those are just some minor things.
I really like the re-work, but the forums need some work. Not sure how dangerous it is to put a heart button for the forums but since they did it for articles I feel like they should do it here. It'd be nice because I can heart to acknowledge the post instead of responding with a post.

I think it's OK for the article comments... But it should stay there. It would be a bit of an unnecessary danger in the forums.

I'll deal with it and adjust over time, but i will never like it. Never. Add me to the list of those who hate this whole "let's make everything look like it's on a phone/tablet" design philosophy.

Is it possible to rate titles without them being defaulted to your game collection? I rated a couple of games that I played extensively at a relative's back in the day, but I never honestly owned them; for now I have them filed in my "Previously Owned" category.

@link3710: The same thing happens when you try to load the comments using the Wii U browser...a whole lot of nothing...

I like this redesign overall. Everything is easy to find on pc and it looks better (as in super nice). My only complaint (which is really a nitpick) is that on mobile everything seems super zoomed in so it is harder to get where you want to go. (As in instead of seeing five articles on screen at once like other mobile sites you see two articles on the screen at once here).

I agree with @the_shpydar. Moreover I'm not sure I like the addition of the ♥︎/Like button… but I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority on that one. I suppose it's not altogether a bad thing.

A few problems:

– Quotes don't show up on article comments. This makes some of my comments confusing as it looks like paragraphs I'm quoting are actually coming from me.
– It seems that you can't jump to a specific article comment or forum post from a user's comments or posts list. You can only go to the top of the article or thread that way.
– The two or so forum threads I created are not on my discussions list. I'm stumped as to why this is, because other users' topics lists are at least partially populated. I don't think it matters that my username was different when I created the threads, because that doesn't seem to matter for the other users…

Oh and here are a couple of problems that existed already but I'll draw attention to them because this thread is still active. Nothing unethical about that.

– Ever since the emoticon overhaul, emoticons do not show up in user comment lists and user post lists.
– The “Status: Banned” message on banned users' profiles has been gone for a while. This could be deliberate for all I know though.

Edit: Bulleted lists aren't formatted either. Hence the minuses instead of asterisks.

I think when forum Topics are locked, Have the whole forum or lock icon show a different color? And the starred topic icon(with the banner) show a different color?

Welcome to the death of intuitive website design. Honestly, it's slap-dash and all over the place. I can't find the information I want to, which is what drew me to the website in the first place, and to top things off I have this stupid title-bar following me down the page like some poor abused puppy looking for a better home. I JUST GOT HERE DAGNABIT!! Would have been great to Beta Test this before just dropping it in everyone's laps. I now have to once again use ad-block because the ads are ever-loading resource hogs that end up fracking my browser over to no end. What exactly was wrong with the previous website design? Exactly what the bloody hell was wrong with it?

I don't mind, but chat is out of wack

On-Topic: I do like some aspects of the redesign, but overall I have to say I liked the old format better.

the forum link on the topright only leads to the 3DS section when your looking at a 3DS article. should lead to the overall forum IMO

not sure if i wanna get used to this new design. it's just not meant for desktop users. normally this is the first site i visit every day and i come back to it several times a day. i might search for a different source for my nintendo related news

I just set the "all topics" page as my bookmark, as it lists the recently commented on topics.

The title bar following me down the screen is seriously irritating. The rest I could probably get used to, even though it looks far too sterile.

uggg! Old website was just fine and got to the point. To each their own.

I love the update. User reviews, profile banner pictures, being able to "like" comments, Topics, the store, it's all great.

Only thing I'd wish they change is the character limit on bios and signatures. I wish they were longer then 300 characters.

Have gif support been removed for profile pictures? Or is it just a temporary bug? Yveltal is looking much more static than normal
