Well I think finished games should be a standard in gaming, but that's not gonna happen anytime soon thanks to developers rushing games out and sending patches later.
@Jaz007 Hey, when are you gonna edit the title from "standered" to standard?
This times a million. Patches shouldn't be used as a way to avoid finishing games before they're released like as seems to happen now. Especially in games made by Nintendo, where increasingly worrying bugs seem to have sneaked in over recent years.
I buy different games because they're different. I don't want a million of the same game. So that's what should be standard, change and different.

NNID: KittenKoder ..... what else would it be?
@KittenKoder that's true too but there are some things that should be standard to avoid trouble or give more variety to the games like Optional customization is always welcome and DLCs being made along with the game or being simply stuff removed from what the game would originaly be are never welcome (unless they're free even though I dislike having to update the game's patch)

@GuSilverFlame True about the patches, "complete" should be standard, and there was a time it was. lol One of the few drawbacks to living in the future. But optional customization just seems .... redundant, thus why I don't concur. Many games do offer it, almost all racing games now, and it doesn't really add much to the game's playability. Basically, if the default controls suck, no amount of changing them will fix that, the controls just suck.

@KittenKoder yes I miss the times when games were complete in the release day instead of buying the core and the rest coming with an extra price for it. the customization part is just something I like. I'm fond of changing stuff to a way completely different from default. I really like visual and audio options too and often count those as customization. anythings that sets one player apart from the other is welcome to me. it gives me that good "no one's the same" feeling!

@GuSilverFlame Ah, the standard settings, yeah, those should be standard on all games. It's nice to turn off the music sometimes, I love the sound effects or voice events a lot in some games. I play Fire Emblem Awakening without music a lot. There is a solution to the DLC containing the majority of the content now .... stop downloading the DLC unless the game already feels complete and the DLC are just extras. I know it would suck, but a little suffering may, in the long run, teach the companies to just finish the game before releasing it. I love how FEA DLC is done, that's perfect.

You have never played an FPS or PC game before. That is the only logical conclusion I can come to unless you are straight up lying.
I can't stand FPS, nor do I play many PC games, you are correct there, however, the main reason I hate FPS are because the controls always suck.

Then change the flippin' controls! It's that simple! Sensetivity and button placement go a long way in making an FPS experience better. I have to work on that stuff with every FPS I've ever played, and trust me, it helps.
Whenever applicable, a new game plus mode should always be standard, it can really give a game replay value and there is no reason for it not to be a in a lot of games. Sometimes restarting a game can fun, but losing all of your abilities isn't. It also helps when they rebalance difficulty a bit like in the Batman: Arkham City, that game did it perfectly except for the fact that you could only restart the game once, that part stunk and made no sense.
For me, Having DLC after a MONTH(s) after a game is released not in Day one..

There needs to be a "Skip Gameplay" button so I can get right to the cut scenes. I hate when the story is interrupted with some nonsensical shooting or item-gathering.
