I hope that it goes better for them next year. Have there been other schools that have done something like this?

Weird... playing games in a toilet?!
Anyway, I'm glad it worked out for them. My [former] school would never allow that [weeelll... they might if we seniors twisted their heads ].
P.S looks like college.

I wish my school would do something like this...that would be awesome. Shame it had to end the way it did.

There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

My high school holds at least two Brawl or Melee tournaments a year. Student-run, though teacher supervised and some teachers participate.

This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.

I hold Melee tournaments every Friday in my classroom. I've talked about it in another thread, but basically if a kid has completed all of his/her assignments and has a C or better, s/he can participate. I hook up my Gamecube to the overhead projector and pump the sound through the classroom speaker system. It's a good motivator for some kids. I get anywhere from 10-20 participants each week.

Awesome and kind of ironic, since I've been thinking about asking the teacher who runs student council at our school if we could do things like tournaments.Hopefully tournament mode comes out for Sm4sh soon and I could ask her.Though,I highly doubt there'd be a huge turnout in my area since mostly everyone plays CoD or some other shooter game that isn't on a Nintendo system.Never hurts to try, though.

Currently playing:A little bit of everything :D
Fan of:Adventure Time,The Legend of Korra,The Amazing World of Gumball,Regular Show,Futurama, and gaming on handhelds, consoles, and the PC.

I wish my school would do something like this, but my peers are too busy playing COD and talking on there iphones to care about Nintendo anymore. (Me and and my friend are the only ones that actually play Nintendo games in our whole entire school)

Yeah but if the choice is between playing SSB in school, or playing nothing in school... you might be surprised

Wow, that's really neat! I remember seeing an article about the "Smash in the bathroom" thing, but I would have never figured they'd have such a large tournament. That's great to hear. It sucks that they couldn't finish.
It'd be awesome if we could have something like that at my school, but based on what I've seen, no one would care much unless it was something like Call of Duty or another FPS.

That, however, is a good point.
