Would you buy Hyrule Warriors if it was a regular game in the Warriors series? How many of you first started playing Kingdom Hearts because of the Disney and Square Enix properties? If Oceanhorn was an actual Zelda game on the 3DS, would you buy it?

1) Yes, heck, the fact that it's a Warriors game makes me more likely to buy it than because it's a Zelda game. Heck, it could be Dynasty Warriors 8 for the Wii U and I'd be pretty psyched.
2) Actually quite the opposite, the Disney and Square-Enix brands kept me away from it for a good long time. The only reason I played it was because my brother eventually convinced me it was a good game.
3) Heck no! If I won't even get Spirit Tracks, I sure as heck wouldn't touch that turd no matter what. It would be a disgrace to the series.

@CanisWolfred: Of course my examples can't apply to everyone, and I'm glad they don't. I'll rephrase them.

1.) Do you think that the use of intellectual properties from The Legend of Zelda will have a positive effect on the game's sales relative to if it were a normal Warriors game.

2.) Do you think that the use of Disney intellectual properties helped sell Kingdom Hearts? Would the game have sold a similar amount using the same level design, story (although altered to not contain Disney characters and whatnot), etc.?

3.) Would Oceanhorn have accrued more acclaim and sales if it was a Zelda game? (This one's a bit rough, but you understand my point right?)

@CanisWolfred - Yeah. I knew this as I wrote it which kinda made me wonder it as I wrote it, but I guess the most I can do is post something like this and hope others heed the advice of opening their minds to new games and being more critical of some practices.

Well this is always a step forward. Trying to get people to open their eyes, ears, and mind, so hopefully they can think, learn, and solve. Et cectera.
I think fear is a big controlling factor in whether people will act once they have this information and speak and share about it to the world. It's hard to change the world when the world "seems" it doesn't want to change.

"But far too many people are going into the industry with the wrong mentality."

Oh how true is this. When I was in college before I dropped out, in Game Design classes, they were overall trying to restore the right mentality. Big thumbs up. However, with information they give us, like certain books, it really scares the sh*t out of me when reading them. (Keep in mind this applies to all games, not just video games). Certain things in some books were really analytic on gamers and their brains and such, and this made me feel as if all game designers were merely testing people (not just gamers) as subjects, lab rats, or guinea pigs. People learning game design or people in game design don't often care what happens to their "audience" as long as they're able to meet the requirements or goals that they have. Basically, we're given all this power over what we wanna get out of people. Learning game design almost feels like a completely scientific approach. It's like game design has no morals whatsoever.... because it doesn't. When people don't apply morals to game design, it can get out of hand.

I wanna write so much more, but I'm extremely tired right now. Maybe another time.
