TAILS AND KNUCKLES ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOO SLOW
The controls. Oh god the floaty controls...
The action button does EVERYTHING, which is really inconvenient
I honestly can't believe Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic 06 were even compared to be alike in a post. That's like saying Super Mario 64 and Hotel Mario are both bad. This person clearly doesn't even know what a good game is.
smh u_u smh
Sonic 06? Fine.
Sonic Adventure 2 is FAR from horrible.
I didn't hate it, but it's far from being "the best Sonic game ever." It's not.
The portable games are far better, and Generations creams both Adventures with little to no effort.
Plus, Adventure too might have been great for it's time (see: DreamCast), but it's horrible and outdated now. Little to no effort was given during the "HD port" of SA2 onto Steam, XBLA, PSN.
@CaptainMorpheus
A game that doesn't hold up well does not equate to a game that was never good in the first place. SA2 is still completely playable, and is still decent.
You'd have to be blind, deaf, and dead to put it at the same level of bad as 06.

@Marakuto: Your avatar seems like a good reaction to Superman 64! @TysonOfTime: If you're dead, doesn't that automatically make you deaf and blind as well?
Not only that, but you pretty much just said that it's far from horrible, so how could it be among the worst games of all time? Seriously, you'd have to be one lucky guy to have not played far worse crap at some point than SA2. As Tyson just said, it's very playable, which is more than I can say for Rugrats the Movie GBC or Tom and Jerry on the Genesis, or Schooby-Doo in cyberspace on the GBA, or Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy: Jawbreakers.
The game that split the Metroid fanbase. Yes I'm on the "hate" side, but if the cutscenes were literally non-existant, it would've been a darn good game that tryed a new gameplay-style for the series.
(Though its not even close to being as bad as Sonic's fanbase. Poor guy can't catch a break, even with fan films!)
I already banned that one from entry. Having a bad story & voice acting does not qualify it as bad, let alone among the worst games of all time.
In your opinion. When you compare it to the series's past titles, this feels like such a mediocre entry that it shouldn't even have the Metroid logo on it. It could've been some generic sci-fi opera action game if you took out Samus, Ridley, the Metroids, etc. My point is its the worst in the same sense Sonic '06 is; trying to change too much (saying the superior Prime Trilogy is now non-canon, adding in a relatively unknown Metroid manga into the story), and ultimately alienating fans or potential ones.
Being bad for a series does not constitute such. If you're a hardcore Zelda fan, Twilight Princess does not qualify. Same goes for Other M. It's still a good enough game to get 80 averages.
Compare the game you discuss to Ninjabread Man or some other extremely low standard. Multiply your expectation by a few and that's the barrier. Which doesn't fit Other M.
This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.
...So you're arguing that it having a bad story DOES make it bad, let alone one of the worst games of all time?
I can't comprehend that.
The gameplay in that game was amazing in it's own right, the atmosphere was equally if not even more unsettling than past entries.
The things that MADE IT A METROID TITLE where all there and solid. It added new elements that were disliked, but people like hating on the entire thing because of those.
At the VERY least it can be mediocre as a game, but calling it bad is... wrong.

Yeah, Metriod: Other M is a game that works. I'm sure it runs just fine and doesn't have game-breaking glitches. I'm sure it's not incredibly boring, either. Therefore, it doesn't belong in the same discussion with the likes of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Ninjabread Man, or CD-i games.
I already banned that one from entry. Having a bad story & voice acting does not qualify it as bad, let alone among the worst games of all time.
Uninteresting storyline, terrible dialogue, poor voice acting, absent music, repetitive gameplay, lack of exploration, lack of new power ups, boring setting, mute bosses and bad pacing do, however, make it a terrible game.
This is an opinion based topic that asks for opinions. Coming in here and banning certain games from being mentioned is unfair and arrogant. I, for one, would honestly list Other M as a terrible game just like many others would as well.

Hmm. I like this argument. It seems that it's very controversial how good of a game Other M is.
Is it just me, or does it seem that Team Ninja has made multiple games of questionable quality?

Sonic 06 got bashed for its story as much as its glitchy controls.
Didn't you read the part where I said I liked the gameplay? Or the part where I said the game would be good if the cutscenes were non-existant? It is Metroid when the cutscenes aren't occuring. At least in Prime 3 the cutscenes were used sparingly and Samus was in-character (silence is golden). It felt like the Samus you'd play as wasn't the same as the one in the cutscenes. But I personally felt betrayed playing the game, I looked forward to it after the E3 '09 teaser, I preordered it, etc. its more of a personal hatred.

Then this thread would be boring if everyone listed the games EVERYONE knows is already bad.
