Or, and I'm just spitballing here, if you're hanging out with girls that actively check out your socks and critique you therein, maybe you're hanging out with the wrong ones.
Given the choice of girls that care about my socks vs girls that don't... maybe I'm simple-minded, but that choice is pretty obvious to me.
