I was totally obsessed with TMNT during my teen years. I watched the old cartoon and all three original movies constantly.
I love this intro scene from TMNT 2: Secret of the ooze!

(screw that modern CGI crap fest a few years ago.)

Anyone remember this music Album that came out back during the 90's?

I had the casette and played it all the time.
Mikey was always my favorite Turtle.

My fav turtle would be Michelangelo (the party dude).

The new made for TV cartoon movie was good, Turtles Forever. Even though one or two of the voices of the turtles from the past could have been better. The video I saw the of the new TV show coming in 2012 looks like a steamy pile of doody so far.

You know what needs more love? The Turtles comics. And Im talking about both the original and the Archie comics. I have piles of the latter and its all great. If the original cartoon was goofy and the new cartoon was grim, the Archie's Turtles comics were somewhere in between, whats with the stuff about dimensions and travelling through space with in a cows head.

I used to like the 80's cartoon but now that I look back on it. It wasn't that good. The characters are more or so the same, with just Mikey making weird pizzas and Don making the machines. I didn't start with the comics but I think they had better character development. To me the 80's show was like a water downed version.

Classics like Triceratons, Utroms, and good ol Fugitoid gone.

It's still fun to watch I guess as a cartoon but if the original wasn't as successful we wouldn't have had any of this. I mean all the incarnations, except for the Japanese Turtle Hero crap. The comics, Mirage and Archie, the 80's cartoons the 3 movies, the CGI movie, Turtles Forever and the 2003 series were all something for people to enjoy.

I loved the original cartoon, movies apart from the 3rd and the action figures.
The one major problem with the 2003 show was that aparently im an alien and my storyline is waaaaay too complicated, there's a youtube video of a guy trying to explain it and it lasts 45 minutes and that's to explain the storyline for a kids show lol.

You are here because the outside world rejects you. THIS is your family. I am your father. I want you all to become full members of the Foot. You are my eyes and ears; find them. Together we will punish these creatures. These... turtles.

Donatello is my favorite. Without him, the other 3 would be helpless

What? Lol. All there is, was that there used to be many who took the name of the original Shredder. But mostly it's the Utrom that landed years back, that the Turtles knew as the Shredder. Many feared him, and they would take advantage of this from taking his place. That's basically all there is to it.

Though in the comic, there is no Utrom Shredder. He dies in the first issue. For the most part the actual stories where basically the same from the comic, but there were a few big changes here and there. They try to bring him back using these cloning worms but then when he is killed they burn his body making sure he doesn't return. Then later with a combination of Mystic Magic and Science they try to resurrect him, but instead of reviving the Shredder they revive the worms, and they look for a new body and find the body of a shark.

So mirage comics, Shredder dies, comes back gets burned, and is a Shark.

To explain the 2003 series.
The Original Shredder was a Demon who possessed Oroku Saki in Feudal Japan. The second Shredder, a criminal Utrom arrives to Earth, takes the name of the Shredder. This is the main Shredder the Turtles know. Then the Shredder is presumed dead, and her adopted daughter Kurai takes his place because while he was gone there was a war for territory in the city withing the gangs.

Oh and the only reason Splinter trained the Turtles to be ninjas was to avenge the death of his master Hamato Yoshi.

Wow I must be the only one who liked the CGI TMNT movie a few years ago. While I wouldnt say it was the best in my opinion it was better than TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze. Than again I never really liked TMNT II. If I wanted to compare the TMNT movies to something I would say its like the Burton/Shumacher Batman series. The first TMNT was all dark and moody like Batman. TMNT II was like Batman Forever it wasnt as dark as the first one but it wasnt like Batman and Robin. The third TMNT movie I would compare that to Batman and Robin. While it had an interesting story they just made it too campy almost like they were just throwing anything out there for us Turtle fans to grab up. The CGI TMNT is kinda like Batman Begins where they wanted to reboot the series (even though there were tie ins to the other 3 movies)

@Link79: Yep I had the cassette as well, in fact I played it so much that one day it just died lol.

@Waveboy: I have always liked Raphael. His sarcasm is alot like mine plus I have always loved the sais. To me Raphael was just the perfect combination of the other 3. He wasnt as stuck up like Leo while he wasnt as carefree as Mikey or as brainy as Donnie.

@Y2Josh: Yeah I liked the Turtles Forever movie as well I thought it was neat seeing all the incantations of them. As for the voices the main ones that sounded different was the 80's Turtles and that was because Turtles Forever was a Nickelodeon production and all of Nicks voice actors have to be part of the Union. The people that did the 80's cartoon series are not part of the Union so they couldnt use them for legal reasons. The thing that I liked with Turtles Forever is that it mainly was saying goodbye to all the previous versions of TMNT so that way Nick can reboot the series.

@Tatsuki: I liked it, but it could have been better. I missed the Shredder and at the end I was like oOooOoo I can't wait for the sequel and "old friends" but the sequel never came.

We can thank Nickelodeon for that.

Two of my favorite scenes from the original movie.

Casey making fun of Tatsu's grunting always cracked me up!

Here's why Raph is awesome.

Usagi-san

The first two live action movies are my favourites. There's a certain charm to actors in suits as opposed to CG.
I also like the 2003 series, it was very well done and plus it had more of Miyamoto Usagi. I liked that they really developed a strong friendship between Usagi and Leo.

I grew up with the 2003 Ninja Turtles and still like that series a lot. I was never able to get into the first series for some reason.

Favorite turtle is raphael. I guess it's because his personality is closest to mine.

I like the first TMNT movie, don't like the second, hate the third, and also hate the CGI movie.

Has anybody picked up the IDW #1 Issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. There's some pretty interesting stuff going on there.
