Ok since it always seems that the Retro thread keeps getting derailed to TMNT I decided to make this thread. Go ahead and post pics of any figures you might have or discuss anything TMNT here whether it be movies, games, food products, pajamas etc.

For me the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were a big part of my elementary school days. I have nearly every figure that came out as well as seasons 1-4 of the original series on DVD and all four movies. After the Original series went off the air I just never could get into the newer Ninja Turtle series maybe it was cause I was older or maybe they just lacked the charm of the older series I dont know. Now Nickelodeon owns the rights to TMNT which scares me a bit but we will see how it goes.

Anyway enjoy the thread.

One day in the days of 2004 if I recall correctly, I saw an episode of the 2003 remake on tv. It was pretty cool to me at the time. I liked the show , got toys, a video game of it, it was pretty awesome. But then other shows attracted my attention and TMNT got waaaaay too complicated. Still was a cool show.

Yeah that was one of the things I noticed with the 2003 series is that it was alot darker and more complicated than the goofy less than serious 80's series. Maybe thats why I didnt like the newer series as much.

Personally that was the only Vanilla Ice song I liked lol. I also liked the Super Shredder at the end played by none other than WWE/WCW/TNA star Kevin Nash. I just wish they had a better fight with Super Shredder I mean here was this big bad mutated Shredder and all he did was knock down some beams and toss Leonardo, what a waste IMO.

Thats what I have read that the 2003 series was based more off of the comics. For me though I was introduced to the TMNT through the 80's series and didnt get into the comics till later. Like at first I didnt know that changed Baxter Stockmen's race from black to white for the 80's cartoon. I guess that they were worried that people would have thought the writers were racist or something haveing a White Shredder boss around a black Baxter Stockman so they made Baxter white in the 80's series.

Still another reason that I couldnt get into the 2003 series is the fact that I could never find what time it came on so I would catch an episode here and there.

@Splat: Whats untitled??

Kinda bummed the movie was canceled. So now it's a show coming on Nick right? Any estimated year?

I believe its due to come out in SUmmer 2012. They are changing some things like Donatello will now use a Naginata (A spear type weapon) and Michaelanglo will use a kusarigama (Sickle and chain) instead of the nunchuks due to nunchuks being illegal in alot of states and countries.

@Splat: I know what you mean I think my entire food consumption in the summer of 1990 was TMNT pudding Pies, TMNT cereal, and the TMNT Chef Boyardee Pasta.

The Party Dude was my favorite!

How many people would pay $5-$10 a month for a TMNT channel?

@Tasuki I wished my parents would have let have a diet like that! How old were you in 1990?

@Ryno: I was 12 years old in 1990 but I didnt mean thats all I ate, lol. Pretty much if you looked in my cupboards during that time I had it pretty much stocked with that stuff. As soon as I ran out of the cereal my parents would pick up another box of it lol.

Damit now I have a craving for that cereal and those pies.
