I'd have to say puzzle solving. Provided I'm patient, puzzle games can be a lot of fun for me. Sidescrollers are fun (I've nearly beaten NSMB). Platformers (i.e. Super Mario 64 like games) are actually rather frustrating at times. Action/adventure games are fine with me, provided I have places where I can wander around thinking (i.e. no time limits or enemies). Arcade games are also quite fun at times.
Fighting games and turn-based RPGs. Surprisingly I suck at adventure games since I miss simple things, and I hate puzzle games despite the fact that I'm good at solving puzzles. I'm the worst at platformers, no matter how many I play I always die a lot. I hardly ever find them frustrating, I just rarely make much progress. Same with strategy games.
I forgot to mention that I absolutely love simulation games (except for the Sims, which has too much content for me to handle).
Another favorite is strategy games, particularly realtime strategy games. My current favorite RTS is the Empire Earth series. It's basically a ripoff of Age of Empires.

I'm good at deep thinking games RPGs, Puzzle games, turn based strategy and slower-paced RTS (such as RUSE or Total War), and anything that requires rhythm.
Not a fan of anything that requires fast reactions, to be honest. FPSers, Platformers, fighting games are out.
Except for Warriors games. Those are action games I can stomach.
I think it's time we had a NL fighting game tourney, hmm? No one's beaten me in Guilty Gear either. Although I haven't played for years now; I'd be really out of practice.

Empire Earth is a very good game. In some ways a better game than Age of Empires. I like RTS the most, but as with other strategy games, I suck majorly at them. It's fun to try, though, and just surviving as long as I can is exilerating.
I wish it was turn-based JRPGs, considering how many I play, but it's not. D:
I'm the best at shooter/platformer hybrids... or whatever the genre Mega Man is in, lol. And I'm not a bad racer either.
Other than that I really suck. D:

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Definitely platformers and adventure games (which also happen to be my favorite genres)...

Do games need to be epic ?... or fun ?... Game reviewer of http://wiiwarewave.forumotion.com Wii #: 0018 2269 1524 9019 (codename Jnes) Also on PSN ! PSN: jnesDX
fps is the genre for me i play conduit and halo reach and team fortress 2 all the time! im also super good at anything i could be better then you at! no but the more competitive the game the more i get good at like in dk i could go forever trying to beat my high score or in halo i can record how long it takes me to get a 50.
Hmmm...I don't know about a particular genre, but I'm pretty freaking amazing at battling in Mario Kart.
Then hows about this: what genres do you usually have the least difficulty with?
For instance, I'm not necessarily good at fighting games, I just find them easy to get into. It usually doesn't take much for me to adjust to and enjoy a new or old game in the genre, and I find that I pick up on things, such as move sets, remarkably quick. By contrast, I find most platformers difficult to adjust to. Even within the same series, there's a grand and abrassive learning curve that I have to get around, and I don't have an aptitude for any of it. Memorizing stage layouts and enemy patterns, predicting jumps, perfecting timing, etc.; all of it requires a lot of work on my part that few other games demand. Sure, there are a few games that I can pick up on pretty quick, particularly the simpler ones, but most of the time its so demanding that I'm thankful if I can make it a few feet further than I did on my last life. Really, I'd much rather be practicing combos or memorizing button combinations, all within a small, defined field of play.
In that case, I'd have to say racing/driving games, as long as they're not uber-realistic. I don't like games like Gran Turismo because of that. I have a good sense of depth and angles and judging speeds and...stuff. I'm pretty good at pool because of that. Oddly, I don't pick up platformers very quickly. I'm not bad at them, but I make a lot of stupid mistakes and I even find Mario games a bit harder than they should be. Maybe it's because I'm so used to the physics in Super Mario World, which is different from other games in the series.
