Topic: The tragic current situation of Nintendo RPGs

The death of Alphadream and the consequent death of the Mario & Luigi series with it, drove many people to panic. The end of Mario & Luigi, after what happened to Paper Mario, meant to many people the total death of Mario RPGs in general. What many people don't even realize, is that are not just Mario RPGs who are totally dead and buried with Mario & Luigi gone.... but all of the worthy RPG series Nintendo ever had. I will make a detailed list of the RPG series and what's their current state:
-Paper Mario is the shadow of its former self since Sticker Star;
-Golden Sun is vanished into the shadow after the mediocre entry on DS;
-Mario & Luigi is dead with the death of its main developer;
-Pokemon is completely ***** up because of Sword and Shield and its many debateable choices made by a now extremely lazy Game Freak;
-Fire Emblem became abominable because of Fates, and even thought Three Houses undid most of the damages, that one wasn't made by Intelligent Systems (for the most part) but by Tecmo Koei, so it was a one-off thing, and it can easely become crap again with the next entry, if IS takes the whole development;
-Xenoblade Chronicles will likely not receive anymore sequels due to the nature of the stories of the two main games (who played both of them knows what I'm talking about).

The situation is terrible. All of the most successful RPG series from Nintendo are completely ***** up, and unless Monolith Soft. comes up with a brand new RPG series eventually, there won't be anymore quality RPGs from Nintendo for the rest of our life, and there's nothing we can do about it... I'm scared. T_T

Anyone else feels the same way? Do you think there can be some hope for Nintendo RPGs in future?

There are some good points but...

-Fire Emblem: Three Houses was almost certainly a Intelligent Systems game. Like I can't say I care enough about Fire Emblem to confirm this or look into it, but I'd still bet money Tecmo Koei was there to work om certain aspects of the game, while the main creative force was from Intelligent Systems. Tecmo Koei is not telling Intelligent Systems how to make their own series, that's absurd.

-The idea that Monolith Soft after THEIR ENTIRE EXISTENCE OF MAKING JRPGs would stop making JRPGs is laughable. There is also no story that would prevent Xenoblade 3 from happening if they like money enough.

Both of these things are entirely ludicrous.

Non-binary, demiguy, making LPs, still alive

@BlackKnight93 Anyone else feel this way? I'm sure some people might agree. But I don't.

-You haven't even played Pokemon Sword and Shield. Stop this doom and gloom criticism and wait for the games to come out at the very least. So many people are only focusing on the handful of things they don't like and don't even seem open to the possibility that the game will have anything they do like. Game Freak has avoided repeating their mistakes with Sun and Moon being basically entirely spoiled before launch so there is a lot we don't know about Sw/Sh yet. Personally I really like a lot of the new Pokemon designs, am eager to do raid battles and explore the wild area. I like a lot of the new NPC designs too.

-There is nothing stopping Nintendo from making more Paper Mario or Mario and Luigi in-house or making a new contract with another 3rd or 2nd party company. It may take some time, but I fully expect that to happen. They ultimately own the rights to Mario, obviously. At the very least they fully have the ability to create a new Mario RPG, even if Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi somehow are caught in legal limbo. And creating a new one might actually be better because it could keep people more open to it - instead of being bogged down by past let-downs or issues.

-Your criticism of Fire Emblem is absurd in the extreme. Fates did have some issues as they tried some different things and they didn't work, out but those games weren't terrible. And to disregard how amazing FE3H is because they worked with Koei Tecmo on the title is just ridiculous. Personally I suspect Koei was brought in to help IS adjust to larger HD graphics.

-Even if Monolithe Soft is done with Xenoblade Chronicles itself, which I seriously doubt, there is nothing stopping them from making a new JRPG in a similar style. Before Xenoblade they had Xenosaga after all. They aren't just going to put out XC1 Remastered and then close up shop and retire.

-Golden Sun does seem to have fallen into the abyss, but there is nothing preventing a revival at any time, either with a new entry, remake, or spiritual successor.

So in short, I am sorry if I sound a little harsh, but I think your post is full of extreme doom and gloom and really doesn't need to be.

1. This is funny in regards to Yamauchi hating RPGs.

2. Xenoblade 3 can and will probably happen. If anything, I hope it attaches Xenoblade 1 and 2 to Xenosaga. The Zohar was discovered in Africa in 20XX. Then sometime later there was the Zohar experiment, and then the incident and our world became Lost Jeresulam.

Xenoblade 3 can deal with after Lost Jeresulam and the Immigrant Fleet.

Sakurai: Which is why I think we should forget about console wars and focus on what’s really important: enjoying the games themselves.

This. Also, to assert Pokemon has only lost its way recently is ludicrous. People are just noticing because we expected a big jump with the Switch.
