Okay, so in every game, you usually have someone to help you around. In this game I've decided to add team members (thanks as well to Vay for telling me this idea). I want to include a decent amount of NL members in this game, so I was thinking the partners would help a bit, and then you'd be off on your own for a bit, and get a new partner. I don't know if I'm going to just keep Vay, or mix it up, but for those who didn't know, PARTY MEMBERS!!!

I don't know what graphic style will you go for, but if you want to create lots of diferent characters yo may as well use this site, they have an easy to use character generator. You could even ask everyone who wants to be in the game to create their character themselves using it.

Depending on what you want the sprites in the game to look like Link977, it may be possible to have every single character in the game able to join the party. For example, if you just want to have the characters in the party have static, unchangeable sprites throughout the entirety of the game, it would be possible to do an Elder-Scrolls-esque thing where every character has their own stats and it's possible to attack, talk to, and steal from them. However, if you want the party members to appear with different weapons, clothing, and etc. while performing different animations, then it would be best to limit the total amount of characters that are able to join the party.

Also, as for ways I could help; assuming the engine hasn't already been picked, I have a payed copy of Game Maker and I know GM Language well enough to be able to design/code the game.

If you want me as a sprite, I can post my Mii up.
Or you could just draw a sword wielding, square eyed, 8-bit penguin wearing a Skrillex t-shirt.

I have two ideas either you could have LJM, some arrogant overweight general dude, and an easily angered chick; or you could recruit some killed enemies for instance bosses. You can also combine the two ideas a bit. OR NL USERS that would be cool.

I would like for a party member to die Aeris style that was dramatic and I didn't see it coming thought she'd travel with me forever.

I want a party member to turn evil at the end of the game, and when you defeat him he turns into a giant turtle.
Then you must destroy the giant turtle, and when he dies he explodes.
But in the midst of the explosion is a particular party member that you have been with for a while, and he/she died to save the world from the "Turtle Menace".
And then there is a disco dance party with raining cats for NO APPARENT REASON.
