Does anyone else have a love/hate relationship with backloggery? It's good to see all your games, and keep track of where you are in the games you haven't finished, but sometimes it makes playing them less enjoyable for me. Sometimes I'm so concerned about finishing a game to get that silver medal that I don't enjoy playing it as much. Is this the case for anyone else.
But that's why I joined Backloggery, to hammer through all the games I have bought and not completed. I like the systematic approach as it is effective (for me at least). I admit there can be some reluctance in choosing a title, but once you're underway, the fun of the game takes over and you wonder why you've been avoiding it.
Once the backlog is lighter I can start buying a new game every week or two, which is what got me in this trouble in the first place. In the few months I've been using Backloggery properly, I've bought a lot of new books and loads of cool clothes for summer. This wouldn't have happened if I was still spending all my dough on games I didn't need.
I like the way Backloggery works too. I've found myself away from the computer and playing games more than I was before I started using my backloggery again last week (I started about a year and a bit ago, but I found myself having the same problems as grenworthshero). Now I think I'm using it a bit better though. All those charts and graphs give me more motivation to play.
Just quit putting pressure on yourself. You don't have to beat them in a hurry. Those games aren't going anywhere just sit back and enjoy them they way you normally would.
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
