1) Kid Icarus - Sky Palace (Simply because I don't like the other one)
2) Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Bowser's Lava Lair
3) Final Fantasy VI - Kefka's Tower (Not great, but I preferred it to the Sonic track)
4) The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
1. No More Heroes 2 - Philistine
I really don't like either of these tracks.
2. Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Bowser's Lava Lair
You can almost feel the bubbling lava when you listen to this.
3. Sonic Heroes - Final Fortress
I like the mix of upbeat and foreboding tones here. The instrumentation in the Final Fantasy song doesn't do anything for me either.
4. The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - Dark Hyrule Castle
Definitely the hardest match-up. They did a great job with this remix and making the castle feel evil.

1. Rainbow Road SNES
2. Most Zeldas from SNES onwards
3. Tomb Raider (original) - T-Rex lair
4. Star Fox - Venom Level
Honorable mention - Top Gear, Panzer Dragoon, NiGHTs, MSR and Super Adventure Island
This list was too hard because I normally prefer music in early levels and many of my favourite tracks are in Racing games from the SNES era.
I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.
1) No More Heroes - Philistine While I don't see either track going far, I'm going with Philistine because it's more of a guilty pleasure for me. 2) Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Bowser's Lava Lair Eternal Wings doesn't stand out as either threatening nor blood pumping, this however does. 3) Final Fantasy VI - Kefka's Tower Both songs were decent at best but I'm leaning more to this track. 4) Mega Man 6 - Mr. X Stage Yet another Mega man fortress track that rocks. Easy choice since Dark Hyrule Castle is an inferior remix due to the GBA's compressed instruments.

1) Mega Man X - Sigma Stage 1 This is a pretty tough one, for me. Symphonia's Renegade base theme is still a great antagonist theme. The industrial feeling drives the feeling of just how wrong the events in those facilities are. Even so, I feel that I only know this because I've played the game. Mega Man X's Sigma Stage 1, however, can be identified as a bad guy theme by a total newb, and that driving bass just seals the deal. 2) Poke'mon Black/White - N's Castle No Contest. This song is just way more intense and way more evil. The 8-bit limitations really take a toll on Bowser's Castle theme, whereas N's Castle surges with the energy Bowser's Castle ought. 3) Super Meat Boy - It Ends 2: End Harder Another No Contest! There's nothing even remotely antagonistic about Aurum Island, as a song. I doesn't carry the feeling of evil or sorrow that Super Meat Boy's World 6-The End does. This song sounds hopeless, and it makes you FEEL that way. That's what a video game OST is supposed to be doing! 4) Chrono Trigger - Magus's Castle Theme Another tough one. These are both extremely tense themes with dark overtones and so much tension you can LITERALLY feel it. I can literally feel my body heat up in anticipation of trouble. I literally can't settle down while listening to this song, so it gets my vote.
1) Tales of Symphonia - Renegade Base Theme (Both are good, but I feel this tune has the edge)
2) Pokemon Black & White - N's Castle (The SMB theme is too simplistic, not even catchy)
3) Super Meat Boy - It Ends 2: It Ends Harder (Because the other one just sounds like a weird jazz song - not exactly boss base material)
4) The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Ganon's Castle (Because it easily beats a screeching background noise with a weird laugh, which is tense, but also just annoying to listen to)
1) Tales of Symphonia - Renegade Base Theme - A refreshing mix! manages to sound foreboding and catchy at the same time, something Mega Man just doesn't seem to do for me.
2) Pokemon Black & White - N's Castle
3) Kid Icarus: Uprising - Aurum Island - Very unexpected, and totally awesome! Although the other one is more foreboding, I can't help myself from voting for this one, it's so good!
4) The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Ganon's Castle

1) Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars - Weapons Factory
2) Fire Emblem: Awakening - Grima's Back
3) Final Fantasy VII - Judgement Day
4) Super Mario 64 - Koopa's Road
1) Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars - Weapons Factory - Even in its old age it still crushes 3D World.
2) The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - Lorule Castle - This was a hard choice, but in the end I decided to go with this one since it kept my interest the entire way through. The other track is really good but I only like 0:28-0:55 and 1:28-1:58 above Lorule Castle, so I decided Lorule had the edge there. Also, for Lorule Castle, it is one of those songs that progressively gets more intricate as the song goes on (all the way to the end), so keep that in mind when you listen to it.
3) Super Smash Bros. Melee - Final Destination
4) Super Mario 64 - Koopa's Road - The other one was just too much. Moderation is good.
A lot of vocals in this round eh?
Oh and hey, LAST BRACKET OF THE FIRST ROUND!
