I'm not sure why MyNintendo only supports a handful of countries. It is a new account system, it was supossed to be a big step for Nintendo, but they already stumbled and fell flat on their face.
I thought that at least their account and reward system would be region free, but apparently not.
@Grumblevolcano: I'm sure they could've made it work if they wanted to. Other companies have done the same. Still not sure why Nintendo only support so few countries.
I'm still confused over the finer details of this new account...
Does this now FINALLY mean that all content previously purchased is tied to a unified account like Xbox and Playstation have been doing for years? So, for example, if my Wii U or 3DS develops a fault I can simply purchase a new one, sign in with my account and download all of my previous purchases on the new console?
The current scenario of accounts tied to consoles and system transfers is archaic.
@Harmunt: I believe, and may be wrong so don't take it as gospel, that we will eventually be able to access our content across other members of the family, just not multiple devices at the same time though.
@Harmunt: Unless there's a system update for both consoles that results in you signing in with Nintendo Account instead of NNID afterwards, I don't think so. For future consoles, it's possible.
For those in countries where this isn't working yet, remember that it's just a pre-registration. Pre-registration is just for the 16 countries where Miitomo will be released initially, but more countries will likely be added after Miitomo and My Nintendo launch in March:
I tried linking my NNID, but when I got to the part where it was supposed to send me an authentication code to my email, it never arrived. (I double checked the email address I entered, and I tried it more than once, but nothing...).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Do we know for certain that purchases we make before this goes live will still count for us? I am trying to decide if I want to buy Oddworld while it is still on sale, but am also wary of buying anything before My Nintendo goes into effect because I want to get as much out of it as possible.
