This is nothing new for South Park whatsoever. They've done all sorts of video game and tech-related episodes in the past. They did the Gamecube (the first Towelie episode, it had the 'Okama Gamesphere' and the GC was released shortly after the episode aired iirc), the Wii (it was a two-parter where Cartman wound up time traveling, and there were talking otters), there was one with the PSP (it turned out to be a device created by God to find a child on earth with the skills necessary to defeat evil in heaven or something, Kenny wound up being the chosen one and died, of course), Guitar Hero, World of Warcraft (comedy gold right there, and it's what spawned The Stick of Truth after all), the iPad ('Human CentiPad', it was actually a pretty good episode), and most recently they did a Minecraft episode. There's other mentions and namedrops of brand-name devices in the show that i know I'm forgetting, too. Especially with tSoT coming this December and the Xbone hitting today, Microsoft would be fools to not take advantage of South Park's popularity via advertising spots during a show kinda based on their product. It's good marketing.
As for why Nintendo wouldn't try to buy ad space during that episode, it's like why Sunday night TV always sucks on Oscar night, and they usually show repeats during special events like the Olympics and stuff — if something is so skewed toward another thing, you let it go and follow up another time or in another manner. Trying to fight the overwhelming torrent of PS4/Xbone stuff during that episode would've been like tossing a dixie cup of water onto a bonfire, it's not gonna do anything at that point in time. so you let it go, keep an eye on it in case it gets out of hand, and then clean up the mess afterward.

Ya I was watching the new ep today, the thing that made me laughing was this part....even though it's nothing important, just saying spoiler if you want a unexpected laugh
Well, it's all said & done, and Xbox One has came out victorious (complete with Bill Gates killing the president of Sony in a street fight).
In the end, when all the kids sat down to play their new Xbone systems, they realized it was all kind of pointless to begin with, as they were having more fun playing outside, planning their console war, than they were playing the games themselfes.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Am I the only one that found the ending really underwhelming? I kind've expected more from South Park than just some street fight and an overly exaggerated death scene of Black Friday shoppers. But I now know my favorite anime is "Princess Kenny" =P
