AVGN is a bit meh to me. I mean, he did do some funny videos, but the newer ones come out less and less, and they really aren't that funny. I thought that the Dr. Jekyl one would be hilarious, but it was just average. Im a Nostalgia Critic fan over the AVGN. But as for JonTron, his review are pretty different, but I do enjoy his stuff. I just wish that he would make more great videos! I also think thats he literally the one reviewer that made me go WTF, when I saw his video (Im looking at you Goldeneye being the 2nd most overrated game of all time 0_O)
I laughed hard when he said "Jafar" and it showed a picture of Captain Hook. Saying one thing and showing a different one is something that guy does great.
I would like him if he hadn't called A link to the past the most overated game ever...
When did he say that? I've watched every single AVGN review at least twice and I don't remember him saying that. If you look at his FAQ page here and scroll down to the bottom of the page, he says quote by quote:

AVGN is still good. I mean, did you see the glitch episode? I couldn't stop laughing.
That one was so stupid. In what universe did James think the Glitch Gremlin would be a good character? It's hard to believe but the Glitch Gremlin is above S*** Pickle and the Nerdy Turd in my top worst characters list. Hell, the Glitch Gremlin even tops all Irate Gamer characters in that list. About Nostalgia Critic; his recent reviews are boring as hell. The whole site has become an unfunny circle****, which is all about unbelievably repetitive and unfunny memes and pointless (and unfunny I may add) cameos (see Kicka**ia).
In other words, they both suck now.
About JohnTron; I can't watch this guy. He is just trying too hard to be an actor, just like AVGN, when he should just be a reviewer. (at least in the bit I saw) Don't try to act in a review, especially if you can't act. (see AVGN, Irate Gamer, Nostalgia Critic) Just review the damn thing.
Jontron probably only has like 5 second segments of him acting every 2 or so minutes of his videos, so I don't really think you can complain about it. I think his top 10's are really awesome as well. Nice to see a reviewer with some diversity. ;D

I'm not sure how anyone thinks AVGN is on the decline. I thought his extended review of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was one of his best videos to date, both in terms of humor and production values. Every once in awhile he will make a review that is weaker than others, but overall he is still at the top of his game. If you keep up with him, he is even working on a full length AVGN movie. So there is no need to go looking for a replacement for him yet. Maybe you are just expecting too much out of him? Keep in mind, for a couple of years straight he was making 2 videos a month (now he is down to 1 a month), on top of all the other series he is doing. It's a lot of work.
Yeah I don't like that video of the JonTron dude except for Tail's fist and "Jafar" but that isn't what the NERD is about. He shows you some games, tells you what made you go "FUUUUUU" in the past, tells you some history, have some laughs. I see them more as the little films he does. I like learning new things from him, and about his past. Drawing his own bored games as a kid? We can relate to his shiet. That to me, is the Nerd.

I see what you're saying. Really noticed in the last review that it's not as fresh as it once was. It seems he's going more along the lines of "reviewer" rather than "entertainer"
His latest review (Lester the Unlikely) was a bit lackluster, but overall I think he's done some of his best reviews in this year, like the Street Fighter 2010 and Ninja Gaiden.
I think he already covered that, either here or another thread. If I recall correctly, he likes the avatar more than the Irate Game himself. Just thought I'd mention it.
I disagree, I don't think the avgn has gone stale. His action 52 and glitches videos were great. I've started watching jontron and he's really good and i think he's even better than the avgn. I also watched that iratevgnerd video that was in this thread and that was terrible! I laughed more when I watched yahtzee which was hardly at all.
