Nope, they only show the new episodes. I wish they would show some of the older episodes on Nicktoons.

But Nicktoons is for cartoons, not live action shows. It's like how Cartoon Network started showing live action shows, ridiculous.

Anyways, why did Saban sell the series to Disney in the first place?

I remember watching the First series then I stopped after in space but then I still caught episodes of the new ones every so often. I even remember watching a few episodes of Dino Thunder I think that was the series where Tommy came back as the teacher of the kids who where the new Power Rangers and I think later in that same series Tommy even became a Power Ranger again.

It has been a LONG time since i watched Power Rangers. A couple of years ago I saw one of the newer series on television and was surprised that it was still going.

A piece of trivia for anyone who doesn't know already. Mighty morphin Power Rangers was created by splicing footage from a japanese show in which the yellow ranger was a man while in Mighty morphin she was a woman. Of course, I never noticed this as a kid.

Wasn't there a Power Rangers series where the Power Rangers instead of calling there Zords they actually turned into Zords I think the series might of Been called Power Rangers Mystic Force, not sure if they actually turned into Zords or not though.

Power Rangers is based on a Japanese series called "Super Sentai." The two shows share the same basic concepts, but are obviously targeted at different audiences. Same thing with Kamen Rider.

If I remember correctly, Saban was on the verge of bankruptcy when they sold Power Rangers to Disney. It was basically a last ditch effort to save the company.

On topic, I used to be a huge fan of the Power Rangers. I fell out of keeping up with them when Disney took over (anyone else hate the CG Megazords?) but I can still watch the older ones every now and then and get enjoyment from it. That is something I can't really say for many of the shows I enjoyed as a child.

For anyone looking for older episodes, Netflix has all of them available for streaming.

Remember Voltron?
That seems awfully similar to Power rangers only it was around years before.
I used to watch those all the time. They are also on Netflix.

I wouldn't say Voltron is similar outside of the Monster of the Week formula that's featured in nearly every comic book, super hero show, and Super Robot anime. The story and style are very different, and there's a bit more story in Voltron.

Nicktoons does show re-runs of the new episodes, so they should also show re-runs of the old series.

Yeah I guess you have a point. The guys on Voltron don't really fight martial arts style either.
I was really only meaning how they are both made up of teams wearing multi colored jump suits.
They also have their Lions that combine into a giant robot similar to Megazord.
Other than that It is rather different. Then again I don't know much about Power Rangers.
Never was a fan. For me it was Ninja Turtles.
I was already grown by the time the rangers showed up on the scene.

When I was about eight or nine years old, I sometimes felt a little lonely. I seemingly was the only little boy on the planet who hated this show. All my buddies loved it.

Now, over fifteen years later, I still stand for everything I said about it back then.

Man, I don't care what anyone says. I so want to keep buying the zord toys. Those things were always and still are sooo awesome! I hope the older ones aren't too expensive on eBay. XD

Now you know why I still get Gundam Models. Awesome-looking robot toys = Win. BTW, I still have some of my old Zords that I can unload for cheap if you're interested.
