I hope they keep losing. Looks like both our teams have turned it around a bit. I really wish we had Porcello back. He's been great for you guys this year. Still not quite as good as Zimmerman has been but then who has been that good lol.

@bezerker99 Looks like this is going down to the wire. Outside of Tampa your whole division is bringing it. Should be an interesting last 4 weeks or so.

@Spoony_Tech Woah - is it really a 3 way tie for first in the AL East? I know my Sox and the BlueJays are tied for first.....but the Orioles are either a half game out or tied with us as well.
Buckholtz won for the Sox last night. That was a mini miracle in itself. He really isn't as good as he used to be, imo.
Not for me and the expensively disappointing Tigers. What a let down. Couldn't even win more then one series down the stretch to save their playoff lives and no that last Cleveland series didn't count.

OK, i'm leaving the site permanently so bezerker99 OUT! Peace @Spoony_Tech. I've enjoyed chatting with you throughout the years. Better luck to your Tigers next year.
@Spoony_Tech and you are one of the GREAT guys!!! I will miss the few friends I had here. But I can't keep coming here when it doesn't make me feel happy anymore. I don't know if you have twitter but I'm there all the time.
Well congrats goes to the Cubs! Does this give me hope for my Lions....not really but it's nice to see them finally win.
I'm probably the only one left here who cares about baseball. 😞 Great game 7 with so much drama. @rjejr I'm going to guess it will take you about 10 to 11 hours to get here. Got about 500$ for ⛽! 😃

Hell has official frozen over the Cubs have won. I will admit after the 94 strike I fell out of love with baseball but this series has made me fall back in love with the game. On top of that as a person who has family who has been waiting for this moment for a long time, I am greatful that I was able to share this moment with them.
Congrats to the Chicago Cubs.

I thought the Cubs were finished after they lost Game 4. I actually thought they had a chance to force Game 7 but the way Corey Kluber was throwing the baseball this postseason I figured it was inevitable even if they forced a decisive game that the Indians would take it. As a Yankee fan I didn't have a rooting interest but happy to see the Cubs put over a century of heartache behind them, those fans deserve it. Hope for the Indians fans their team gets one in the next few years, that's an extremely good young team as well.
@Spoony_Tech When I started getting ready to leave after the game my wife said "no". Sorry, maybe next time.
@Gamer83 As a Mets fan who begrudgingly roots for the Yankees during the majority of our off years you must have at least had a passing interest in watching Miller not look so good - homerun to the old guy turned out to be huge - and Chapman get the win. Only in baseball do you get a "W" for the worst outing of your career.
Congrats to the Cubs and their fans, nice game, nice series, nice season. So, what's the next real big long overdue sports story? Anybody know? I think the Jets need another 20 years before 1969 seems long enough, though their consistent ineptitude is sure to see it happen.

I"m a Jets fan, they've been inept my whole life. I don't think they're the next story though. The next one might actually be the Cleveland Indians now that the Cubs have effectively wiped out 1908.
@Gamer83 LeBron gave Cleveland their trophy, it's somebody else's turn. Certainly not the Browns, no hope for a team that can make the Jets look good, even if only for a half.
No, w/ the Cubs winning after Boston won a decade ago I'm not sure there are any "curses" left that anybody could care about. Baseball TV ratings will never be higher they they were last night.
1948 wasn't that long ago, and the Browns won the championship 4 times in 15 years, they just had the misfortune of doing it before the Superbowl was invented. Even if they win, it won't be the same.

Cleveland got its championship but not everybody is a basketball fan. The Cubs winning was an event eventhough Chicago fans had the fortune of seeing one of the best modern-sports dynasties in Jordan/Pippen Bulls, the Blackhawks have won some Stanley Cups in recent years and the White Sox won a World Series in 2005, yet for as much as they enjoyed those championships it seems like the main thing that city wanted was a Cubs championship. The Indians don't seem to captivate baseball fans the way the Cubs did but their drought is approaching 70 years and it took nearly two decades to get back to the WS after two heart-breaking losses in 1995 and 1997. There's got to be some angst among that fanbase. There's no sports curses anymore but there are teams that I think neutral fans can get behind when their favorite team goes out.
