wow, am i glad i picked up up the MM Graphic Novel(Issues 1-4)! :D
I haven't read it yet, but i quickly skimmed through the booklet to check out what all the fuss is about and i've gotta say artistly it all looks pretty damn brilliant! This looks to be a giant love letter to the kids who grew up with Mega Man, i absolutely love how they incorpirated the robot masters stages and enemies into the mix! I'll be keeping up to date with the entire series from now on.....Hopefully it doesn't go 'X' :p

Hey fellow Mega Man fans, I'm not sure if this stuff has been posted already at some point in this thread but you've gotta see it if you haven't already:

Fan-made Mega Man 2 Intro HD Version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg5jZPUmUI4

Fan-made Mega Man 2 Intro, orchestral version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSlWtbZxt6A

Fan-made Mega Man 2.5, a concept for a Paper Mario-style Mega Man game combining elements from Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 3. Even has a co-op mode! Capcom is aware of this project, they even featured it on their official blog. Too bad they will never actually make it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6KMAm_228s
There are like 4 other videos of it if you do a search for them. Amazing stuff.

I would try to embed these videos here but the syntax looks complicated and I don't feel like trying to figure it out right now. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Classic series: Awesome series, except for 7, 8, and Mega Man & Bass.

X series: Started out great with the first five installments, then they butchered the characters (X6-X8 and Command Mission) and the storyline (X7, X8, and Command Mission) and all hell broke loose.

EXE/ Battle Network series: Another great series except for Battle Network 4.

@CassSophFan

It's hilarious how i never grow tired of the Classic MM series, but 1 or 2 MMX titles is absolutely enough for me. I don't find the Animal based Mavericks interesting in comparison to the humanoid Robot Masters of old. And i thought Mega Man & Bass was actually one of the better sequals in the franchise no matter how ridiculously frustrating it got with King's Flying Tank Boss(Possibly the toughest Boss battle in Classic mega history? :o ), Burner, Dynamo or Magic man. The music was mostly dissapointing though I'll admit aside from a couple tracks including Kings's Stage. Burner's couldn't be more unfitting. :p WTF?

And i still can't fire up the urge to play Mega Man Zero 2 Now, MMZ1 was fantastic, but like the X series I don't know if I'd want to go through another. I think the steep challenge is what i find intimmidating which is odd considering i LOVE me a good Casey Jones Challenge-eeno! B-) It's also the animefied tone that slightly puts me off.

At this point I'm more interested in playing MM6 & 7. But I'll most definitly play through Zero 2-4 someday.....Sommmeeedayyyyy over the rainbow. :p

Zero 2, like X2, is more of the same but not quite as good. Zero 3 and Zero 4 are great games, though, you really gotta get to them, man.

Oh yeah, especially the end of Zero 4. Something I'll never forget! :o

Also, just placed my order for Mega Man #14 online....can't wait to read it, and hopefully Quake Woman does something awesome while still being uber-hawt at the same time! :D

It's funny for me how I start playing the classic series and think "Oh how could X be anywhere as good as this" and then play the X series and say "Dang this is better than the classic series" and just go back and forth and back and forth. They both have their charms and in the end, they're both Mega Man. The Zero series isn't quite as good because of the stupid elf system and the level rating to determine whether you get a boss weapon or not took some fun out of it for me.

Zero 4 fixed all of those, Man. You really gotta play it.

@Mickeymac
Yeah I forgot about Zero 4 with the nice feature that lets you actually pick if you want the stage to be harder or easier which was great.

@Retro
Hey, MM6 was pretty good imo at least better than 7.

Meh, MM6 was pretty decent. It's definitely an under rated game.

6 can't be any worse than 5....Can it? :p Centaur man just won't alow it! hehe. and 7 has a Spooky Halloween based stage starring everybodies favorite Drac' robot 'Shade man' so it's an automatic win. Anyways! I'm going into both with a fresh and open mind regardless of the semi decent feedback. Everybody around here seems to nail '4' as one of the better in the franchise, and I've got to be honest, the only stages that i honestly enjoyed were Dive, Toad and maybe Skull man's along with their stage music. 4 also has that odd annoying pause when the robot masters Life metre fills up causing the music to abruptly stop until it fills up, yes i know it's a flat out deal breaker which renders 4 one of the weakest haha. ;)

1 - a brilliant start. A semi ground breaking unique NES title that paved the retro-way.
2 - Amazing sequal that bests MM1 in every way imaginable
3 - good, but like '10' it boasts a darker, less colorful and more serious approach which i feel doesn't suit the Classic MM franchise.
4 - dissapointing, but still fun. At this point, the series is getting a bit stale, but 4 still carries that classic MM charm to some degree.
5 - Too easy, not to mention bland. Doesn't have the polish or feel of previous MM outings.
6 - ?
7 - ?
8 - Horrible soundtrack and crippling in game + boss voice overs ruin the experience. Astro man sounds like barber tranny. LOL
9 - BEST sequal bare none.
10- Not bad, but it feels like Capcom is just going through the paces again. Probably one of my least favorites in the franchise due to the music, MM3-like tone and the fact that it takes itself too serious. It feels bleak, sad and kind of empty. The Boss music is thee' worst yet.

Tell me abou it, i've got quite a few titles on the back burner. And I'm laging behind quite nicely with the Wii and 3DS. :p
I blame my OCD and the fact that I'm too much of a perfectionist(Another quirk most artists have) I'm still redecorating my place which will be done in a few more days(Finally!) so then i can get back to gaming. Castle of Illusion for the Genesis will be the next, but i refuse to play any more Zero games until I'm done with the classic MM franchise. Must....Get...6! :p
