Great stories guys. I love hearing how people first put there hands on a Nintendo system for the first time. ME, I got mine for my birthday pretty release year of the NES i think. I was a small child and my Dad pretty much got it for him. It was the bundle pack with the NES, Light Gun, and Power Pad. The cartidge had SMB, Track and Field and Duck Hunt together. I rember throwing a tantrum because I couln't beat the first level on Mario Bros. Prob about the time my Dad realized the controllers could survive Armagedon I remember tryin to tape down the power pad to the floor to keep it from slidding tryin to outrun Cheetah on Track and Field and holding the light gun right at the tv to beat the high score in Duck Hunt. Man those were fun days

It was the original Game Boy. I think I was eight. Played Wario Land, Tetris, Kirby's Dream Land, Super Mario Land 2 & Link's Awakening a lot. LA is a very good game as many will attest, but it's especially engrossing at that age.

I was a little boy, and by little I mean I barely started to walk, but I played my brother's NES. Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, Zelda II, and SMB3 were among the games I played. I still play SMB3 to this day and I'm on my.....40th...maybe 50th run now. Funny how that game didn't get old even after 19 years.

The NES may not have been the first Nintendo system I played. It may have been the SNES when I was 5. for the record, I'm only 12.

@WhoKnew: I use to go over to my cousins house when I was 6, 7 and 8 and play there GameCube. In 2005, I got my GameCube and I sold it a year later for the Wii.

Mmm let's see, we were at my uncle's house, our familys rarely saw each other in those times, so it must have been a special occasion, don't remember , I was like 6 or 7, my cousin asked me to go and play with him in his room, and there it was that beautiful grey box, with cords spawning from it (you know, the NES ), I had an Atari 2600 and a friend had the Colecovision, so I knew videogames, but I hadn't seen, or heard, something about that machine; and when we started playing Super Mario Bros. I was like " OH MY GOD " it was the most amazing thing I had played in my life. I tried to skip dinner to keep playing, and I begged my mom to let me stay the night, she, of course, said no. I conviced my parents to get me one a few months after that .

A looooonge time ago, when I was 5, I played Donkey Kong Country 2 on a SNES at Best Buy. It was a very fun game though pretty dang hard. I didn't get to play it for long though, since my family had to leave. Later on, I played Yoshi's Island too, and it was amazing! Unfortunately, I never owned a SNES, and thus didn't get to play either of these when they were fresh. But I got the GBA port of YI many years later and loved it, and I got DKC2 on VC a while back, and I'm lovin' that too.

Personally, I would think a N64 controller would be a very intimidating to use as a youngster.

My first system was the SNES; I believe I was 12!
My beloved classics will forever and will always will be Zelda A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, and TMNT IV: Turtles in Time!

It must have been somewhere around 1994 when I first played on the Game Boy at some relatives. I think it was either Tetris or Super Mario Land but I'm not sure. I must have been about six or seven years old.

Good times.
I spent an entire afternoon playing Duck Hunt and then for a little while SMB.
And the rest is history.

A long time ago, in a memory far far away, I played my first Nintendo console. I'm working my way through The Memory Warehouse buts it's buried under a huuuge pile of stuff and I can't find it.

I never had problems with it back in the day.
