First off, if there is already a thread like this, give me the link. Ok, so here we can talk about good books, bad books, and predictions for sequels, threequels, and four-quels (not sure if that's actually correct). So right now, I'm reading "On Stranger Tides" by Tim Powers. It's pretty good so far. Before Powers' book, I finished reading "Brisingr" for the third time. What about you guys?

Currently reading through The Hitchhikers' Guide To The Galaxy set of books again, then I plan on reading Eoin Colfer's 6th Hitchhikers' book. Let's see if he does as good a job as the late, great Douglas Adams.

Really great book. Starts of slow (like say, the first hundred pages) but give it a shot because it starts getting really effing good. It's right up there with Crichton's best.

I really like books by Jasper Fforde... hard to classify his work though, check it out sometime! Fans of science fiction, fantasy, or literature in general might enjoy, his writing is very witty and packed with references to all sorts of things.
A Song of Fire and Ice is one of my favorite series. by George R. R. Martin The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind isn't too bad. I'm not completely caught up with the most recent books in the series, but it was starting to go downhill for me after the first couple. ANYTING by H.P. Lovecraft is awesome imho.
i'm not much of a reader, but just finished world war z, zombie survival guide before that, and now i'm reading the hobbit for the fourth time...
There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore
Another vote for the Lovecraft love - H.P is by far my favourite horror author - I constantly read his stories and critical analysis of him - I studied him at University.
At the moment I'm also reading through Lolita by Vladimir Nabuchov. Again, another book I studied at University, and I've recently come across some new academic writing around it.
I constantly read Shakespeare, with Romeo and Juliet and King Lear being my favourite - though at the moment I'm reading his sonnets.
For sheer fun I'm reading The Lisbeth Salander trillogy by the late, great Steig Larsson. Great example of journalist-turned author.
Just finished reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (for the umpteenth time) in preparation of the movie. I have not, however, read Through the Looking Glass so that'll be my next stop.

You guys should definitely read "Hero" buy Perry Moore. Description:"The fantasy novel is about a teenage superhero, Thom Creed, who must deal with his ex-superhero father's disgrace, his own sexuality, and a murderer stalking the world's heroes." I love this book, and I heard they are making a tv show out of it!

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is the most frightening book ever written
I suppose you have to be mad to enjoy it It's actually quite an ingenius bit of fantasy with a great sense of humor if you ask me. In fact it might be my favorite book of all time.

I'm a Song of Ice and Fire fan myself, currently reading the latest, 'A Feast For Crows'. The plot is so far ahead of anything else I've ever read; it's brilliant. Although I think that Martin can be extremely cruel on the reader - he's wantonly killed off or maimed several of my most loved characters. :[
The best book I've ever read is probably 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance'. It's a very accessible philosophical novel with some amazing ideas. I can't recommend it enough to anyone with a casual interest in philosophy or metaphysics.
