Oh ya, Mega Man 9 & 10 were cool, too. 9 is better than 10, IMO.

I just couldn't get into 10 as much as 9 for some reason.

I'd say World of Goo was pretty cool, even though it was short if you didn't 100% it. I thougt the last world of that game was trash, though.

I think the OP is limiting it to two games

My nominations/votes:

  • Fluidity (aka: Hydroventure)
  • La-Mulana

WiiWare has a bunch of good games, but these are two of the best in my opinion.

I didn't have many notable games downloaded from Wiiware, but if I'd had to name a few I'd say: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Justice for All, Onslaught and Water Warfare. I did own World of Goo, but found it to be mediocre at best.

Currently on the plate:
Mount and Blade: Warband – Napoleonic Wars
Chivalry
Super Mario 3D World – Finishing the last few levels.
Mario Kart 8

Fine, I'll go with Hydroventure and And Yet it Moves, but I thought I would just remind people of all the awesome on Wiiware, rather than just Bit.Trip, Strong Bad, World of Goo and Cave Story.

It's really a toss between La-Mulana and World of Goo...it just depends on how much effort you put into playing La-Mulana!

I've got quite a few WiiWare games i need to play. tonight i'm checking out the demos for Lit, Moto Heroz & Chrono twins.

1. Mega Man 9 - (Thee' grand daddy of WiiWare, and the best sequel to classic Mega Man since the debut of mm2 back in Christmas 88')

2. LostWinds
3. Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth
4. World of goo!
5. Mega Man 10 - (Not one of my favorites, but i haven't played too many WiiWare games. Bit Trip runner & Contra Rebirth would of been next in line but eh)

Still need to get Cave Story, the Strong Bad series, Bit trip Beat, Bonsai Barber, LostWinds 2, Rage of the gladiator, exciteBike world rally, fluidity, bubble Bobble Plus ect ect. :D most of you guys have already played the best of the best WiiWare-wisey', i on the other psychadelic funk master hand, am only half way there! :P

and oh my god why haven't i heard of this Zack & Wiki inspired WiiWare gem?

this really makes me happy, seeing as how a Zack & Wiki sequel seems to have about as much chance as the return of Crystal pepsi.

It's a shame you still have to pay full price for all those mediocre to average 5 year old WiiWare games ;)

yeah, you'd think the prices would be knocked down by now. But Bonsai Barber looks a lot more innovative and fun than bro-in' in down your soldier brahs for the trillionth time in Battlefield: poop squad 99. And i keep hearing so much praise on the Strong Bad series, but visually it just looks like an awful looking flash game. :P

I could imagine there would be a bell that rings in the developers studio whenever someone purchases a WiiWare game... Who knows, maybe you might be the saviour that tips the scales in favor of the developer so they might get paid ;)

lol don't count on it. Once again i'm reminded by the lifeless, mechanical, barren & empty PS1 quality that most of these silly wiiware games. i just played the demo for LIT....neat little idea, with horrid PS1 visuals, and gameplay that gets stale after 20 or so minutes. moto Heroez is of higher quality, too bad the lousy music and it's compressed sound quality make for some depessing atmosphere, it plays pretty good but it aint my cup of tetris tea. Chrono twins, again....cool idea, but with confusing controls, wrapped up in junky production values. It's like playing a genesis game that was barfed out of Alf's a**. And finally bit trip Beat which was....pretty damn awesome! :o I had no idea it made use of the wii remote tilt controls. It's definitely going on the list.

the only other WiiWare games i'm considering are >

CaveStory, Lost Winds 2, Gradius ReBirth and bonzai Barber...(I must!) and that's it! i've got Mega Man 9, 10, LostWinds, World of Goo!, castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth & Contra ReBirth

i'd rather spend my time with quality products, which for the most part will not be found on WiiWare. ;)
Heck even that punch-out!1 rip of 'Rage of Gladiator' feels somewhat cheap....Yeah, I'd much rather go play Punch-Out!! :p
