I made up a fictional Aussie who was a stereotype in every sense of the word. His name was Angus, he dressed like Robert Muldoon from Jurassic Park, but talked like Steve Irwin, and hunted Bunyips. Also, he was insane.

Following from the American thread - there's a partial list of Australian inventions. Not bad for a young nation with a population a fraction the size of anywhere else.
@WaltzElf - Not sure what a Lagerphone is, but I do know I want one.
This is a Aussie song that is a guilty pleasure of mine, the lyrics are awesome, particularly the verse
Buying bread from a man in Brussels He was six foot four and full of muscles I said, "Do you speak-a my language?" He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich
So yeah, anyway, I love it in Oz. I've only visited Sydney, but got as far as the Great Barrier and The Blue Mountains, amazing. I've spent a grand total of 12 weeks of my life down under, and with various family members having emigrated there, it kinda feels like a second home to me, and the place I imagine I will end up. I've surfed plenty in Newquay, but it's always disappointing compared to the beaches and waves there. Nothing like sittingon your board, soaking up the sun, waiting for that wave. I love it so much there, I sometimes wonder if I was born in the wrong country, I think I was meant to be a surfy dude. The people in Oz are so great, especially to poms, despite the rivalry, which is both serious, and friendly. I love you guys.
Also, I discovered smoothies there, I mean PROPER smoothies, the likes of which I can't find here.
