Topic: The Aussie Thread

If the English get one, and every second thread is about an American topic, time for the Aussie thread!

That said, I give this thread about 3 posts before it degenerates to the most horribly-ignorant bunch of cliches that not a single Aussie possesses (excepting Steve Irwin. According to the international idea of "being Australian" him and Paul Hogan are the only two Australians to exist <_<)

Economically it's part of the South-East Asian block of countries these days. Socially Australia is a very multicultural nation, with the vast majority of immigrants coming from Asia.

Hell, we even compete in qualifying for the Soccer World Cup as part of Asia now.

Australia might be a continent in itself, but it's becoming more and more a part of Asia each year.

Australia was a good movie, but a pretty poor representation of Australia.

The thing that totally shocked me about it was that one of the actors was Jack Thompson. If it's a different Jack Thompson, then it's okay; but if it's the Jack Thompson [because he's infamous for the _youknowwhat], I've no idea how to react.

So, any chance of one of our Australian members mailing me one of these little fellas? I'd ask for a kangaroo but I hear they're jerks.

My mom has several plush Koalas...I only have one myself. And a picture of a live Koala hanging on my wall. That's about as much as I know about Australia without resorting to stupid stereotypes, espeically the ones that poke fun at Irwin (the Crocmire Hunter, anyone?).
