Fact: German was rivaling English as the main language in the States up until WWI when it pretty well disappeared for....obvious reasons. LOL

I'm not sure I understand. You're stating that the amount of people that spoke German as their primary language was rivaling the amount of people that spoke English as their primary language in the U.S.A. pre-WW1?
