Topic: Tetris Is Being Turned Into A Sci-Fi Movie

Wow. Okay, uh... What could the plot even be? Maybe, a boy meets and befriends a Tetris block that fell from space, and throughout the first half of the movie the Tetris block starts trying to warn him about how a Tetris block invasion is coming. Once the invasion starts, giant Tetris blocks start falling and clearing buildings like in that video, and in the end the friendly Tetris block gives up his life to save the boy. The boy then has to set off the Omega-Nuke and fly away in his X-wing to destroy a quarter of the planet and all the Tetris blocks, while still making it alive. The End. Boom, blockbuster movie right there! I should be the director of this movie! And once I'm done with Tetris, I'll make the Candy Crush Saga movie! That will be about IAPs taking over the world!

Seriously? I'm frightened.
I'd be terrified if they attempted to make it into one of those "The world will be destroyed! We must save everyone!" movies.

While I do have a deeper appreciation for Tetris than most and can find analogs to personal experiences I've lived through in my life, I just don't know how it would play out as a sci-fi story. I'm willing to wait and see. I hope it'll be good.

Suddenly that "dark and edgy" Sonic movie is sounding a whole lot better.

I have to see this, for no other reason than to see what the heck they came up with!

Maybe it'll be about some sort of underground resistance group fighting for independence from a tyrannical empire, and victory or defeat depends solely on whether or not they can hack the empire's computer system, by getting past their "TETRIS" defence system. A task many rebels have tried to overcome, but have never succeeded at.

That seems like something Hollywood would come up with...

Not related to anything, but by god, imagine how boring it would be to watch a movie based on Simon Says (that was actually faithful to it ).

^The only way I see this movie working. Of course Hollywood won't go in this direction. Instead they'll make something really stupid that people will ultimately argue "isn't that bad" like they do with all truly bad movies.

I had no idea that movie was actually based the board game. I figured it was the case with Twister where it was about a tornado rather than the game.

The only way I could see this working (other than that Wargames idea) is if it is an intentionally ridiculous movie.

Tetris meets Saw? Score a Tetris in one minute or a device on your head with trigger, splitting your skull in two. I'd watch it.

The secret is that it will have close to nothing to do with the game.

It will be about a man who must find himself in order to become a better human being and father to his upcoming son.

It involves romantic comedy and many corny moments.

It's Tetris because he must put together the "blocks" in his life that prevent him to be better, and overcome them.

Edit: it's sci-fi because it takes place in the distant future in a very technologically advanced Russian spaceship.

I like how all your ideas are still probably better than what the movie is gonna be.

What's it going to be about? All you do in the game is drop blocks. Not really much to work with.

I'm not going to turn down this movie as this happened not too long ago with the Lego movie. Turned out to be a great family movie.
