I've had people on this site say they were going to find me and beat me up. lol. I even gave someone my address one time, but he never came. : (

Don't worry @AlexSays - that special person is right around the corner.

This might be surprising but I dont jaywalk. I do in fact use the crosswalks and wait till the green walk symbol is up.

Alright then, hopefully next time you pirate music/movies you'll be arrested. Then call this kid spoiled.

If that doesn't fit, just keep going through the entire U.S. Law until you're done counting the ones you've broken. Then call this kid spoiled.

Nope I dont pirate music or movies but if you saw my stance on emulators and ROMS around here you would have known that. I can honestly say I don't go breaking any laws. I dont speed, I use my turn signals etc. Its really not that hard but than again I attribute that to how I was raised. Nowadays kids aren't raised to respect the law and I can see proof of that here in this thread from some of our younger posters. Alot of them have the mentality of oh if no one sees me its ok but than whey they are caught its everyone's fault that they are in trouble but theirs. Its actually really sad.

All I need to do is read this sentence and say you are a liar. I challenge you to go through the entire U.S Law and say you follow every law. There are asinine laws, whether applied to the whole country or by state, that are commonly broken.

stealing all from Google, accuracy may vary

Have you ever sold anything in person without a license?
Have you ever jaywalked? (I'm going to repeat this. I believe people are full of crap when they say that they don't, mainly because you are the FIRST person to seriously say you have never jaywalked of any age. Stop blaming children (this and the Harlem Shakes).)
Have you ever bet money not at a casino?

I could go on, but if you already say no to all 3, then I hereby deem you as worthy of sainthood.

This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.

I never said I never broke any laws I said I don't go breaking any laws. And what you are stating really makes no sense. You are acting like this guy broke some unknown law, when in fact being this day and age he didn't. As I said with all the school shootings that we have seen in past few years he should have known better. And as for blaming kids this guy wasn't a kid and really I am not blaming kids of anything not sure where that came from. I blame the person for each person is responsible for their own actions.

@Tasuki: It's very easy to stand there in the 'i'm living a spotless life' mindset, to point fingers and levy blame upon other people when the damage is already done and they're already enduring the consequences of whatever it is they've done. i can only hope you don't have to eat your words one day, and if you do, that someone is compassionate enough to not tapdance on your suffering on a random internet forum.

Oh I can tell you I am not living a spotless life. I will admit I have made plenty of mistakes and I have paid dearly for them but you know what I didn't cry or whine about it I dealt with the hand I was given. Everyone is saying how messed up it is that he could possibly get 8 years in prison for making a joke. Well first off a possibility of getting 8 years. Well since this is his first offense in this type of thing, there is no evidence to support what he was saying he was going to do he will more than likely pay a fine, and do some community service and maybe get house arrest. I highly doubt hes going to get 8 years in prison I highly doubt he will even get one.

Now as I said think about it the other side. What if he wasn't joking, what if he did just what he said what he was going to do and no one acted would you still feel sorry for him. Hell no you would be mad at him and jumping up and down on how he should get the death penalty Look at Columbine the warning signs were there yet no one acted. Yes I understand that he was joking but how do we know? Maybe he was planning to do that but he was caught of course he would say he was joking I know I would.

Honestly I dont see where I was tapdancing on his suffering I was just saying that why is it ok to not act on a potential threat. Do we have to actually wait till something horrible happens and than go oh I should......... I am sure you ask anyone who lost a family member in a school shooting and they will probably agree that they way they reacted to what this guy said is just cause.

I just don't understand how people can honestly live in a world without rules, regulations and consequences. Maybe I am just missing something.

Looking back at the joke,I think it was just more of a joke towards insane people.I don't think he was crazy, just making fun of insane people.I do that a lot of times when talking about insane people killing others.

@Tasuki: read through the first couple pages of this thread, man — i'm in the same camp on this as you. I can absolutely understand why the authorities would have brought him in and how they couldn't ignore something like that given the climate surrounding that statement and where he lived at that point in time. I believe that there are some things you do not 'joke' about for any reason, and iirc i was the first person in this thread to say they doubted he'd get the full 8 years if convicted.

however, you're talking like he did kill a bunch of kids at an elementary school, and he didn't. he said something about doing so and may or may not have had plans, we have no idea. whether he meant it and was preparing to do so will come out in the court sessions, I'm sure, but you sitting there calling him a 'spoiled brat' for being depressed and on suicide watch while sitting in jail pisses me off because that's exactly how a rational human being should feel while incarcerated and unsure of their eventual fate. I'm reacting to your remark about him being a brat, nothing more. It can take forever to get through a court case like this, and in the meantime you're having to deal with the strain of not accidentally pissing off your for-real-crazy cellmate(s), accidentally making eye contact with a cranky guard, knowing full well the hell your family and loved ones are going through while you're sitting behind bars. If he wasn't showing signs of depression, remorse, or fear, there really would be a problem with this guy.

Being in jail isn't the same as being put in the corner after pushing your little sister into a puddle, it's not a slap on the bottom and a chuckle from mom or dad as you're told not to run through your neighbor's flower beds again. Jail is a horrible place filled with people who both have and have not done that of which they are accused. it's a place where bad people can and do make worse things happen — from both sides of the bars. Also, we have no idea that he is 'crying' or 'whining'. We know nothing whatsoever about his behavior in jail except that he's apparently depressed and on suicide watch (which could be for a myriad of reasons), so for you to call him names like that when he's already in the system and being handled just seems disgraceful.

Ok yeah I see were you are coming from TBD. That was pretty bad at me. And it did look like I was kicking a man when he was down. I took it as everyone was saying he shouldn't have been punished. I was getting at how people said oh its sad that he is on suicide watch and now he is going to end up hating the world cause he went to jail. Of course he could but who knows this might steer him straight too. We will never know. Anyway I am done now I will let it go. Sorry for being an a**
