So lately I have been considering a tablet for my PC needs, mostly for the internet, watching stuff like hulu, netflix and youtube, and also something to play a few games on stuff like Hearthstone. My problem is there are so many to choose from, Kindle Fire, Nexus , Galaxy etc. So I am looking for some ideas. I wont do Apple so dont even suggest iPad. I am looking for something reasonably priced that fits my needs. Any suggestions.

I got a Galaxy Tab 3 (10.1 inch), and I like it.

As for internet browsing, it has both Google Chrome (which I haven't actually used yet), as well as the stock Android web browser. I use the latter, and it works great (loads fast, and has no problems running videos & stuff). You can erase your browsing history through the browser itself, but to clear cache & cookies, you'll have to go through the system settings (it doesn't actually take more than a minute to do this, it's just knowing where to go).

As for video watching, it's great for that too. I watch a lot of Netflix & YouTube, and it runs both applications smoothly (I think the longest thing I watched was The Game Awards 2014, which I streamed live on YT, and was a bit over 3 hours long. It wasn't too long after that I had to charge it, but it goes to show it lasts long enough to watch pretty much anything you want to watch). I think the screen is equivalent to 720p rather than 1080p, but that's good enough for me.

As for games, it's been a bit hit or miss. It ran Final Fantasy IV (a port of the DS version) very nicely, but it's failed to play DQIV (which is also the DS version). It's not crashing or anything, it just won't go past the "Authenticating License" screen (it did this fine for FFIV though, so the problem may be on SE's side, network wise). As for graphically intense games, I've played Gravity: Don't Let Go without a problem, but it stutters & has bad textures on the second level of Godzilla: Strike Zone. Both are free games though, meant to advertise their movies more than to be games, so it could just be poor programming. It also runs Madden 15 Mobile & MLB. com Home Run Derby 2014 without a problem (both are graphically intensive games as well. Madden runs a bit slow, but apparently that's going on with pretty much any device you're playing it on, from what I've heard).

BTW, no matter what you decide to get, be sure to download CM Security Antivirus off the Google Play store. It's the best free antivirus software you can get for Android from the research I did, and it's worked great for me (I first downloaded it a few months ago after my internet browser would randomly close, and sure enough, it found the culprit & I haven't had the issue since).

EDIT: Dragon Quest IV is now working.

I am not a big fan of Apple products, never have been. I played around with my friends iPhone and I just didn't like it compared to my droid phone. Don't like Macs either.

Hey, that's way better than just the normal overpriced pieces of garbage with 2010 technology." excuse.

Lol Yeah. I will be honest and say that I have tried Apple products and there is no other way I can describe it as I just dont like them.

Both Google and Apple deliberately seem to totally mess up the last supported firmware.

Apple you cannot downgrade. Google adds more and more junk to Google Play Services.

I have a Nexus 7 (2013) / Xoom / Kindle Fire HDX / ipad Air (With 4G) - I think the Kindle Fire HDX was the best value I only paid £109. (Most of my apps are on Amazon anyway because I don't trust anybody with my credit card if they don't have someone I can speak to if there is an issue. I have bought a few Google Play cards and those apps are on their own account).

The ipad might be better when I can get hold of a Horipad in the UK.

Except for the garbage(unless you actually use it as garbage) that is factually true for the most part.
