G.I. Joe serves no other purpose other than to establish the bottom of the barrel. Somehow it''s even worse than Transformers 2 and Wolverine.
I thought transformers 2 was good...

Once in their life every man should watch Glengarry Glen Ross. No boobies or blood, but lots of swearing, crime, and deception, all over the course of a rainy night in Chicago. The scene with Alec Baldwin should be required viewing for anyone who has ever held a job in sales.

You forgot to mention Starship Troopers, only the best sci-fi movie ever made. I'd like to introduce you to it's cult following, i'm the president, cashier and only member. When we're not watching Starship Troopers we like to watch the fifth element. Both of which comes highly recommended to all of you.
There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore
I saw Man on Wire the other day, and I really enjoyed that. It's about a Frenchman who did a wire-walk between the World Trade Centre towers. He's a fantastic, energetic character and made a really interesting subject for the documentary. Good film.
Like Terranigma I expect I have a list as long as my arm, so I'll just put in a few of my favourites off the top of my head:
The Lives of Others - a German film about secret surveillance before the fall of the Berlin Wall. It sounds boring but it's absolutely engrossing, really edge-of-your-seat thriller stuff. I mean "thriller" in a vague Hitchcock way by the way, not Michael Mann!
Wall-E - beautiful film about robots. Reminds me of Short Circuit/E.T. and films like that. Everyone should know it's brilliant by now.
Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid - Steve Martin as a private dick jostling against Philip Marlowe and company. Fantastic.

I have not yet seen The Jerk - it's on my list. I've seen plenty of clips and jokes from it though; enough to know I'd probably really like it.
If you like Gene Wilder I hope you've seen Young Frankenstein.
More recommendations that have just come to mind:
The Princess Bride - hugely quotable but, more importantly, massively charming and highly enjoyable. Annie Hall - well, a lot like the above I suppose, and yet nothing like it. 3:10 to Yuma - beautiful and gripping cowboy film. Yes.
Has anyone ever seen "Pan's Labryth"? It's the best adult fantasy film ever. It's subtitled so unless you know Spanish, you'll have alot of reading to do but it's really worth it.
