I wanted to share this kind of strange video I was recently shown. [youtube:-JZO8J2moWA]
I am wondering if anyone else has seen this before; it seems to be quite popular. The animation is also quite well done. Don't know if I'd want to be the band, but if they were in control of how the songs go, it might be decent enough for them.

It's Miku Hatsune, the Vocaloid. She's wildly popular in Japan. She's basically a mascot for the Vocaloid programs, which generate singing voices in Japanese. That voice in the video is hers. She's even released a few singles haha.
I'm not that surprised that she finally did a live performance LOL. It must be that she's just displayed on an on-stage screen or something, but it's actually quite convincing! The band is pretty good too.
It's so weird, but pretty darn cool! Apparently this Vocaloid program is being used quite a bit and a type of program like that is used in some singing robot too. Except that is just beyond creepy. [youtube:u_gBSWE_KYE]

The premise is that she's a virtual diva. She started as a mascot but eventually became a character which they associate the voice with. Hey, this is Japan and they embrace the future, right? lol

[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
I actually have some vocaloid shiz on my phone that wakes me up in the morning. Ssshh. As for the live shows they are really quite impressive and a glimpse at the future. Trust the Japanese.

While I've already seen this, the technology definitely redefines the term "Manufactured Pop Star"...
