Hey, I'm just wondering if anyone has seen this or has any thoughts on it. I put all of the games that I would like to get some day on my Amazon wishlist just for personal reference. I got an email that Bravely Default is available used for $10.10. I went to check it out, and almost every game on my list is available used for the same $10.10 price (including both Smash Bros., both Hyrule Warriors, and many others). They are all from the same seller who it says just launched, and they are all actually listed as New. Has anyone seen anything like this, and do you think it could be legitimate? It is impossible to find Bravely Default anywhere or Hyrule Warriors for less than $50, so I'm tempted to try those.
Yeah, there's plenty of scammers out there, some of them are harder to find (they'll sometimes have bots to help them with fake reviews/ratings), while others are painfully obvious. (someone listed a new Switch for...10 cents...)
Personally, to be safe I'd just avoid new sellers.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I obviously believe it's not completely legit or I wouldn't have asked on here, I guess I'm just wondering what's the worst that could happen, since Amazon protects purchases. If I buy Bravely Default for $15 (I think shipping was $4.50) and they either never send it or send something fake, then the money never gets taken out, right? Has anyone ever lost their money on Amazon before?
@Xyphon22 This is a known type of scam. Basically they list items they don't have, and then count on at least a handful of people not bringing the issue to Amazon. Since it costs nothing to ship nothing, even a few people being too lazy to ask for their $10 back lands them a profit.
@Xyphon22 No, the money gets taken when they claim to ship the item. You then have to wait a certain amount of time, depending on who the carrier is, to show that it's not going to turn up, then you have to chase your refund. Not much fun.
Happened to me with some shoes that were reasonably priced. Had to wait a couple of weeks at least I think before I could ask Amazon to investigate. You have to do the chasing.
@gcunit Gotcha. Thanks. I've never had anything but positive experiences with Amazon, so I've never had to test out how any of that actually works. I knew they didn't charge you until the item ships, but now that I have to think about it, I guess there is no way for them to know for sure whether the seller actually did ship the item or just lied about it. Probably good as I don't have time for the games I already own.
weirder things have happened. its rare but it happens.
i sold a mint copy of little samson for 300 dollars 2 months ago. the guy was pretty skeptical himself until he opened it. i imagine i would have had trouble selling it online instead of in person since it would seem like a hoax or something. me and the guy remain friends to this day. i dunno, i try not to judge folks but i know im a rare breed. maybe he is like me...

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
