hmm, they made about $46.9 million off of it, so its about 40% of their losses from last year. Not bad.

I feel like it's a desperate move than a smart move to be honest. They lost 75% of their initial investment....But it really could be that Sony felt that this 9% share is not going to do anything so they might as well sell it to recover the loses.

Sony knows the big money isn't in JRPGs, it's in FPS, crime sims, etc. And most JRPGs desperately crawl to Sony on their hands and knees without Sony owning any part of them so why lose money when you don't have to?

Sony could give SE a big middle finger and SE would still lick their boots.

NIS manages to release a few JRPGs per year on both PS3 and Vita because they have a much more realistic approach to the genre. They don't spend the entire GDP of a small South Pacific island nation on each one.
