Topic: Something I've always wondered

I've always wondered why people who own a game on one system an others that own the same game on a different system, can't play on the same servers by that company that produced the game. Let's take the very popular game Call Of Duty franchise for instance. If I own COD:BO2 on the Wii U and you own that same game on the PS3 or XB360, I feel i should be able to play with you on the same server. Granted, I know that would be a TON of people and the servers would have to handle it but I just dont understand why they segregate each console to their own community. I think as a "whole" the gaming community should be aloud to play with each other. Even more so now that the 3 consoles that are currently out are really close to each other spec wise.

There has been only one game that I know of, and correct me if Im wrong, that has broken that barrier and allowed players to play each other on different consoles. That game was Final Fantasy 11, which could be played on PS2, PS3, XB360 as well as PC and all could enjoy each other's company in the game regardless of whichever system you used.

I would love to see more of this, I hope to see more of this. Unfortunately, its not going to happen. And there is no good reason why it shouldn't happen. I think it would be great if it did though. I would never have to worry about waiting period until I found a game I could join when someone on a Wii U decided to play Assassin's Creed 3 or any game for that matter.

Its just something that I have always wondered and I'm sure a lot of you would agree with me in thinking that the gaming community should really be united and not segregated by gaming console. Its just a pipe dream I guess.

I think its more the gaming companies, Nintendo, MS, Sony themselves more than anything.

Meh, I wouldn't want to play on a server with a bunch of XBox nerds anyway.

That saying has been around for a long time.

Also it is more to do with Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo themselfs, I am sure they would allow it otherwise.

"Meh" originated from the Simpson's, officially, though the word is much older actually. It was recently added to Webster's Dictionary, of course recently in this context is in relation to my life which means about 10 years ago. The short definition is "I don't care," though it's a bit more complex than that due to it's usage. Lisa Simpson typically used the word, thus increasing it's popular a lot and prompting the dictionary crews to add it as an official word. It is no longer even considered slang by most people. Personally, it's the best new word ever.

Really? you guys think I don't know what the word "Meh" means? lol. That question i asked about "meh" originated because ever since Reggie said it in that interview, people have been using it almost as a mockery towards him. I find it funny how such a simple little word can have such a following once a person like him uses it. But oh well, what the hell.... meh lol
