I'm from Florida, and everybody here calls it "Soda". I have a friend from Ohio who calls it "pop", so in the U.S., I guess it just depends if you are from the North or South.
I think it's an east/west thing. I'm from New York and everyone I know calls it soda.

As mentioned before, in respect to Australia, it is only ever called SOFT DRINK. Soda is just a water or part of a brand name (Creamy Soda). However, in the state of Tasmania, it is actually referred to as CORDIAL. That in itself is odd, as what do you then call cordial?
No-one in Australia ever calls it Pop or Soda Pop. You just hear that on American television.
