Remember "One More Day," the one where Peter makes a deal withy the devil only to have nothing happen at all. That was not only badly written, but it felt like a big ol' "F**k you!" To all those who actually cared about Mary Jane and Peter's relationship.
I think Linkara from That Guy With the Glasses puts it best. Go check out his review of why it's an abomination of the human mind.
Yes I do. And it was awful. This however, is something i'd prefer happen in comics, as opposed to, say, Peter suddenly being romantically involved with a superheroine or, as seen frequently, suddenly going all emo and doubting his abilities when people desperately need his help.
So today apparently the part of Green Goblin has been cast for The Amazing Spiderman 2 which is bringing the villain count for this movie up to three, already planned is Electro and Rhino as well. Its funny how Sony wanted to reboot the Spiderman series because Spiderman 3 did not meet their expectations yet they are making the same mistakes in this one as Spiderman 3, too many villains. Disney should take the rights back to the Spiderman movies before these idiots mess it up for a third time.
I guess some people never learn.
If you don't like Spiderman movies, why even bother? Just ignore them.
You've gotta love how they're trying to keep this new series as seperate from Raimi's (better) trilogy as possible. I mean that looks nothing like the original suit Toby Maguire wore!
The new suit has an ultimate-y spidey feel to it which is good. Plus Andrew Garfield is 10x the spidey that tobey was.
Its the same suit as the Raimi trilogy's, just with bigger eyes.
Regarding Garfield; he was not the loveable, genuine good guy like Maguire was. Garfield was a mean-spirited d-bag who just followed along the same notes that Maguire did throughout SM 1. He'll never be Peter Parker to me.

Oh I liked the first two alot. In fact the second one is in my top five super hero movie list. The third one was ok, however the reboot was just awful and really not necessary IMO. I could understand if it was 20 years or even 8 years after the last one like The Batman movies but it was just too soon after the Raimi series to reboot Spiderman and they didnt even do a good job at that. And its kinda hard to ignore them when everything is cramming it down your throat acting like they are the greatest super hero movies ever.

Am I only one who could take no part of The Amazing Spider-Man seriously?
None of the characters in the movie behaved in a real, human way or ever did something that real humans do and I couldn't get invested in the story because of it. The only possible exception was when Spidey saved the little boy and even that was utterly undermined by the crane scene at the end.
Don't get me wrong; I found the movie massively entertaining (if only for its ridiculousness), but I could never call it a well-made film.
Ah 'character-bloat'; the scourge of superhero movies.
I really liked Amazing Spider-Man (I thought Garfield's Peter Parker was a lot better than Maguire's spineless incarnation), so hopefully the sequel waon't fall into SM3's traps.
Really though, Marvel and DC comics (and their films) are trapped in an endless loop of characters and series constantly becoming too bloated with convoluted lore, before the slate is wiped clean ('rebooted'), only to have it all happen again, before being rebooted again, before becoming too convoluted, before being rebooted...over, and over, and over again until the end of time. It's and endless cycle that prevents me from taking the comics and films too seriously. I can now see it happening to videogames as well, with Tomb Raider and the rumoured Resident Evil 'do-over'.
Goblin has not been confirmed for this movie. Only Norman, and it makes sense because Harry will be in it. He'll probably be involved with Rhino and Electro but I seriously doubt he'll suit up — at least before the post-credits.
Spiderman 3 was the best one, Tobey Maguire is an such an amazing actor. I think that doing the green goblin again won't be that good, because face it, we want to see spidey fight a new CGI villain, not a villain we've seen before 11 years ago. And If you do it right, juggling three villains at once isn't that bad, but it has to be executed perfectly or it won't be a good movie.

That was the point. If you were taking it seriously, you were doing it wrong!
Er, to expand upon that, it was meant to be a lighter tone than the previous movies, more flashy and fun, which as far as I'm concerned, was always what Spider-Man was about, and what made him so likeable in the first place. He wasn't always so serious like Batman, and wasn't always super-nice and heroic like Super Man. He had more personality, which I felt was better presented in the Amazing Spider-Man movie. So if you were expecting a dark, humanized drama like the Batman movies, you're gonna be disappointed, but personally, I'd never expect that out of a Spider-Man movie.

THIS is Peter Parker.
That's what that picture makes me think of.
Can't say I really liked any of the Spider-Man movies ithatmuch though.
