This is the internet, check some reviews. Don't rely on cluttering threads. 'Nuff said.

Respect, Chatham. But simply saying "'nuf said" doesn't make it so. This is review site, and a community of avid, and mostly informed gamers. Some here have similar tastes in games, and it's fine to seek out the opinions of like minded individuals. We don't have a user reviews section, yet. And we also don't have a robust forum search fucntion, either, which leaves creating a simple, quick in-and-out thread the simplest way to divine the consensus of those like minds. Until those other features are supported here, these threads are understandable - even if a bit tiresome.

I would just like to point out the difference between an annoying and constructive thread -

Constructive -
Q. What do you think of ... game?, How does X game compare to Y game?, etc

A. These type of questions will lead to detailed and helpfull answers that can benifit more people than just the OP.

Annoying -
Q.Should i buy Wii Sports or The Conduit?
Answer1.Conduit A2.Conduit A3.Wii sports A4.Depends what type of genre you like A5.Neither ..etc...etc

Q.I have 1500 points what should i spend it on?
Answer1. world of Goo A2.Megaman2,Mario and Sonic A3.Water warfare + whatever ...etc..etc...etc
Reply. I don't like any of those games

I'm guessing what Chatham was saying (and this is what i think) is that people should think a little harder when creating a topic to make sure it is worded correctly so that it not only gives them more detailed and helpfull responses, but also anyone else who may read that topic too.

No from what i read he was saying "Can we please stop with the "Should I buy (blank)" threads?!" as in NO MORE, make them cease to exist which to me is a direct NO WAY. I like your own take tho, but your constructive question is the exact same as the 2nd one (in the annoying category) except your just saying it in a nicer, less direct way (theres no real difference between them). But i do like your idea, however, in my case what i do is i say it the second way (directly so people who dont want to read can just answer) but i go on to introduce the topic, like ive done in the past so then it shows i actually know the differences along with some pros and cons of the game so then the people who read it can understand that i understand each game but i still need some help choosing.

The questions are not the same, the constructive question is a open question asking for a opinion, the annoying question is a closed question that is asking for one word answers, for example i could ask Do you like cheese?, this would result in a one word answer, either yes or no. Or i could ask What do you think about cheese?, which would result in a more detailed insight into your opinion of cheese.

The point being a lot of threads posted are closed questions that result in basic answers. Don't get me wrong i don't actually care that much but it would be nice if people would ask more articulate questions, as most of the time answers to questions can only be as good as the question asked.

I'm just sick of coming onto NL and seeing at least half the recent threads being crap like that all the time. Who's with me?

I'm with you! A lot of threads here suck.

Then toss in the fact I was wrongly moderated and still haven't received any sort of reply, and this site looks less appealing every day.

But why do you like cheese

I love the variety that exists in the cheese world I mean, come on, how many cheeses are there? 1000's and 1000's. I love the taste, the smell the different textures available. And it's so versatile cheese goes with anything. You could eat it for breakfast, luch, dinner and supper and still not get bored of it. So just to reiterate I love cheese in all it's many guises (cept' for that mouldy stuff eeewwwww!!).

Wensleydale with Cranberry, oh my god!

Anyone else notice the 'What Games For 2000 Points?' thread and the 'Should I Buy (Insert Title Here)?!' thread are goin' head to head. Funny.
