I looked at that list already, but I'm still not sure... A4-5000 (A4-6000 is the lowest) is not listed, and while Radeon HD 8330 is, that list says "Radeon HD 8000 series graphics for OEM systems (8570 and up)" so it seems like I might not make the cut...
The only reason why you need to get an New Windows if.
1. You have the money
2. You really really really need it for programming basis.
So far it has been proven that Vista could run most programs by itself. So why bother waste time. Microsoft is employed by the government and leaves tons of holes inside of it's software ( some being found today in Win95/98 ) for people to gain access and even control an persons computer.
WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS DIVIDING THE HERD. If everybody kept using windows 98 then nobody would have an big problem with privacy. If people kept using XP nobody would have problems. They are trying to get people to leave their previous windows by giving out freebies. Because of that they have more control over people.
One day you might wake up and see an message on the computer screen "Like madmax" to report to your local precent for your court date. THAT IS WHAT THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS WITH COMPUTERS IN CONSUMERS. To weed out people, make them lose their pensions, social securities, and stuff.
Think of it like the needle in the haystack theory. More hay means more privacy. Less hay means less privacy. The more users divide the less they can actually survive.
I tried checking whether my computer would be compatible, and it says that one of my graphics cards won't work with it (an AMD Radeon HD 8750M), so I'm not sure it's a good idea.

Your graphics card won't work with what? It's listed as DX12 compatible and Windows 10 will work with all graphics cards of the last probably 10 years.

I'm getting this message on the upgrade screen:
It seems there are some issues with the drivers for that card. It's probably going to work fine, but it might be worth waiting a few months until it's clear that there won't be any further issues. It might even no longer be an issue if you try the upgrade test again at the Windows 10 launch.
I checked and I have a similar notification, but like @SuperWiiU said it's probably just driver issues and you'll be able to just update them when Windows 10 launches.
It's got some ways to go, but if the preview builds keep coming at the pace they've been for the past 2 weeks July 29th should be a good day. Some driver things to work out with AMD though.

Nobody should, really. While it's definitely superior, it's also extremely suspicious how they just dish it out to all Win7 owners for free when they tried to sell these very same people Win8 just about a year ago. I smell a lot of content control/device scanning shenanigans, and that's what everyone should be fighting against instead of I-don't-have-anything-to-hide-ing their way out.
I have a 7 computer now, but it's getting old and I'm planning on getting a new one. Thing is, I have tried 8 and I really hate it, but maybe a good idea would be to just buy a new 8 computer and upgrade it to 10?

Or maybe they're lose-leading just like Microsoft does with nearly every single product they make - give it away for a while, get people talking about it for a long time, then once its the standard they can make bank. I'm sure they'll still get plenty of money from people selling computers with Windows 10 pre-installed, as well as licenses and whatnot, especially since they'll still try to push the "Windows Store" that I'll probably only use to get Sunset Overdrive (for under $20, hopefully) assuming it never comes to Steam, then never touch again ever...

You should keep your eye on the European gov't agencies out there. They are actually in the process of investigating Microsoft's Source code for 10. they are looking for all kinds of shenanigans. Microsoft opened the doors and have let them inspect it. So yeah, they are trying to be open.

Its also a free upgrade for windows 8.1 users.
Like how windows 8.1 was a free upgrade for windows 8 users IIRC.

@MegaMari0 You mean like they did with the NSA spying on EU politicians, only to silently drop the matter at the next best chance? Besides, updates can be made rapidly, server-side communication can get whatever kinds of data MS wants.
@Gridattack As one of the odd ongoing XP users, I wasn't even slightly aware of that, but it changes very little on the suspicions.

If it comes with 8 sure, but if you could get a computer without an OS and put your 7 of the old computer on it and upgrade you could save yourself hundred bucks.
