I understand this concern. I've seen...rather "fabulous" looking colors on some characters that isn't pleasing to look at or is just way too vibrant. I keep things simple for mine as it's just a red fox, so it keeps the standard fur patterns there. But I give him a green shirt since it compliments the fur color well. I like to keep things pretty simple, usually.

Just FYI, there's a game called Fates Forever on the iPad. It's League of Legends with furries. It also has bot matches and co-op vs. Bots if you don't want to deal with snotty brats like you'd have to do with LoL (At least I think LoL doesn't have bot matches...) I feel like the F2P model is a little agressive - you're able to purchase everything with in-game points earned through play, with 3 characters a week getting a steep discount. You only get one at the start, though. I've been having fun with it at least.

FURRIES IN A BLENDER!!!

Sorry for the Triple post, but I just wanted to bring up the topic of furry anime. Like in other countries, Japan usually restricts furry characters to side characters or one-off characters, usually only featuring them predominantly in kids cartoons. But, still, every once in a while you get something pretty cool out of it, such as Eto Rangers, Beast Warrior Gulkeeva, The Cat Returns, Wolf Children, Night on the Galactic Railroad, and of course Beast Saga.

Eto Rangers I've seen a few episodes of, and for a kids series, it's quite nice. It's about anthropomorphized Zodiac animals trying to fix fables (usually Japanese tales, but also chinese and european as well) whose stories are being altered, usually by some villain. I don't know japanese folklore well enough, but it tends to be fun takes on the stories, with lots of lessons to be learned, and often climaxes with some action. They only ever translated the first 16 episodes apparently, though.

I've only seen the first episode of Beast Saga, but judging from it and some brief synopsi of various episodes, it seems much more action-packed and serious, and I really like where its going. Probably gonna be a year before the first season is fully subbed, though, and they got a new season coming soon...

I only recently heard of Gulkeeva despite it being fully subbed for a while now, which isn't a great sign. I'll have to check it out, but I'm hoping its okay at least. It looks like its more serious and action-oriented, like Beast Saga, and I love the 90's art style.

The movies are the most impressive of the bunch, though, since all three are more dramatic, but not exactly action-packed, weaving interesting and even complex stories while still heavily featuring animal characters. I always felt like that was the goal of furries - to broaden the horizon of the roles anthropomorphic characters and the stories that feature them. While I wouldn't compare them to movies like The Secrets of NIHM or Watership Down, it's nice to see Japan has some films that work towards this goal.

Of course, I'm not counting the "Talking Animal" stuff right now, since otherwise I'd be spending this whole time talking about Kimba and that one series about the fighting dogs...

I've definitely heard Fiab before. I haven't heard them in a loooong time though. I should probably listen to them again.
