If you don't know, Seth MacFarlane (creator of Family Guy, American Dad, and The Cleveland Show) is going to make a new version of "The Flintstones" for Fox. (But why Fox? Cartoon Network / Adult Swim would be a better choice, since that network and all of Hanna-Barbera's cartoons are owned by Warner Bros.)
Anyways, what do you think? Would you want to watch "The Flintstones" with Seth MacFarlane's unique humor?

No. That's like asking if I'd like to inject myself with snake's venom. Sure eventually it'll stop making me sick, but it's smarter to just avoid it entirely.
Unique? Family Guy hasn't been funny since 2000. And if he's the creator of American Dad then I can see where all the humor he thinks of goes. American Dad is interesting and downright hilarious. But I can't see him pulling off a Flinstones cartoon to be honest. With all the Flinstone jokes from Family Guy.
And Fox makes sense. Thats where all those shows you named originated. I don't even think Cleveland Show is on AS, yet. And Flinstones should never be on AS hence the fact it orients more towards kids not adults. Unless... he makes it very immature and pointless like Family Guy.
I wanna see what he does with it. I do enjoy Family Guy, this season not so much, but he did say that he wants to stop producing Family Guy, so maybe he's not trying as hard this season.

And Flintstones was never made for kids. The original series was basically the first animated sitcom, pre-dating The Simpsons by 20 years. It was full of more "mature" themes (for it's time).
And the Flintstones jokes in Family Guy could be ideas for actual episodes. He's clearly a fan of the show, since he references it constantly. Who knows, it could be better than The Cleveland Show (like that's hard to do).

Key words: For it's time.
It's evolved into a kids cartoon show. No drama, just dinosaurs. You can't even argue about that.

The original "Flintstones" cartoons haven't been made since the early 1980's (when the Hanna-Barbera Christmas specials were on TV). There was "Flintstones Kids", but that was a spin-off.
I grew up watching the Flinstones and Jetsons with my older brother. There is not, in any way, mature material exposed. Thats like saying people didn't know how to cuss 50 years ago so they made some alternative for mature audiences. That's ignorant beyond belief.

At its root, most of the humor in Family Guy is based on pun. Think back to The Flintstones. It's the exact same kind of humor, but Family Guy is much more extreme and geared towards a modern audience.
I think MacFarlane's humor is perfect for The Flintstones. He's intelligent and incredibly witty. I also believe that MacFarlane has respect for the classics. I trust him to make a version of The Flintstones that's both funny and intelligent without being overly vulgar.

Finally, someone understands his style of humor. Family Guy is all based on puns and visual gags. The pun sets up the joke, and the cutaway gag is the "punchline".
American Dad, however, is all based on sight gags, with very minimal use of puns.
Also, Seth MacFarlane is a self-described atheist, and Brian (the dog) is mostly based on his real-life personality and viewpoints.
Then why is American Dad so much funnier than Family Guy?
Because Family Guy sometimes overuses the cutaway gags, but recent episodes cut down on that. I love both shows, but The Cleveland Show is very hit-or-miss.
Seth does most of the voices on those shows (Peter Griffin, the Doctor, Brian the dog, Mr. Pewterschmit [Lois's dad], Stan Smith, Roger the alien). He's a very talented voice actor and a surprisingly good singer, he did the opening song to one of the Futurama DVD movies ("Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder").

Brian is also portrayed as a very boring and untalented individual. Your point?
Boring and untalented, yet very knowledgeable and practical.
I'm thinking this is just another "I hate it cause it's popular" thing. There are many cartoons that are better that what Seth MacFarlane makes (Futurama), and there are cartoons that are worse (King of the Hill, Beavis and Butthead, some seasons of The Simpsons). The fact that Seth has 3 highly popular cartoons on Fox (Family Guy, American Dad, The Cleveland Show) is a testament to his popularity, and proves that he'd doing something right.
