Hello there. Being furious with the poor treatment of Cartoon Network, I decided to send them an e-mail about what's happening to them:
(Messege sent by me.)
"This is a message from a formal fan of yours. How you manage to betray us is no mystery. Not only have you forgotten your old audiences, you also stabbed in the back of newer generation of kids. You should be ashamed of yourself for what you have done. But before you dismiss this as another whining e-mail, read this closely.
Back in the old days (1992-2003), you were one of the highest-rated channels. You had the best shows out there. First off, you used to pick up old shows that was made by Hanna-Barbera. Shows like Tom & Jerry, The Flintstone, Scooby Doo, Where Are You?, and more. Fans of the old shows and new fans back in the old days apperatice those shows and I'm glad you made an block completely dedicated to them.
The news shows made at the time were also classic shows. They were entertaining, addicting, and memorable. Remember Dexter Labortory, Cow & Chicken, Johhny Bravo, and The Powerpuff Girls? They are consider your best shows.
But what was the selling point for me and millions of other fans was no other then Toonami, an increabile block that was one of the most successful blocks in animation history. The action shows litterally thirved and pleased all fans of any ages. American animation included Superfriends, He-Man, and Voltron. In the early days, those shows made a great number of Toonami fans.
However, what made Toonami so special and so unique is that it made us fans of animes, Japanese form of cartoon. As you should know, some of them had HIGHER rating then most shows back when they were released. The best of them were Sailor Moon, Ronin Warrior, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragonball, and most importantly, Dragonball Z. All of these shows I mentioned made you the best possible channel for kids entertainment.
However, starting in 2004, when you took off almost all of the old shows (Which didn't matter much.), you started to go downhill and fast. The last classic show you produced were Foster Home for Imaginary Friends. The quality of the shows also dived. Chowder is okay, but nothing special, Flapjack is so-so, mixed with an bad idea. Geogre of the Jungle is bad, plain bad. Total Drama Island was good, but my intrest didn't stay long. However, I could not bear watching 6Teen and have no plan to watch it. That show is unoriginal, and unintresting. Not to mentioned I could not stand the art style.
However, you made your fans even more outraged by taking Friday, Friday off the air and everyone loved it! Now kids without Boomerange have NO oppertunity to watch Dexter Labortory, Cow & Chicken, Johnny Bravo, Ed, Edd'n, Eddy, or any of the good shows that YOU used to air. Replacing it with patehic spin-offs like Fried Dynamite didn't work one bit and only got you an even more negitive reputation.
However, none of this compares to what was your downfall and what killed off intrest of millions and by that, I mean MILLIONS of fans across the planet.
On September 22, 2008, you cancel Toonami with no warning, no information, and no reasons. It didn't even get an replacement for crying out loud! You need to understand, killing off Toonami without realzing what your fans wanted has lost you millions of fans. We lost almost all animes from TV, the quality of your shows dropped still, and you are losing money. And personally, by cancelling Toonami, you basicilly killed off my intrest in watching TV at all.
You made yourself an even bigger embarrasement by airing and making LIVE ACTION SHOWS, something that you did not pledge to do! This is Cartoon Network, NOT REALITY NETWORK. Not to mention almost all of your live action shows bombed in views.
I also saw a Cartoon Network rant and this person was watching trailes for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince along with hundereds of other people in the movie theater, and you were adversiting CN Real! They booed at you for breaking a promise, to be 24/7 cartoon ONLY! They were furious at you.
You should be ashamed of yourself. Not only have you betrayed long-time fans, you have also made an roadblock for new fans. You have gone wrong, you have no idea what your thinking.
I'm going to be honest here, THERE IS NOTHING INTRESTING IN YOUR CHANNEL NOWADAYS! Look what you did to the channel. I don't watch TV anymore because of your repeated terrible financial choices. It is in ruins and if this bull**** keeps up, your going to go out of business. By cancelling Toonami and making live-action shows, therefore, your shooting yourself in the foot!
After reading all this, your probably going to dismiss this as another fan whining. It is not, this is the truth. You have lost your way of making good shows.
I'm not saying "Bring back all the old shows, kick off the new ones, and bring back Toonami.". But what I am saying is to look at the old shows you used to air and LEARN from them. Make an quality action block that consist of great shows that we all enjoy. If you really care about your audiences, this would not have happen. If you just remotely care, you would respone to this message. But apperently you don't, so you will pay the price for not listening to anyone.
Goodbye and may your old fans take revenge on you."
You know from that e-mail message I sent them, I was downright furious with them. I can only hope they respone and respone well.

I have not watched Cartoon Network in years. The shows I used to care about [for example, Dargonball Z and Johnny Bravo] are gone. Cartoon Network's golden age is gone.

Yeah I used to love CN, but now I alsways skip past it. There's not one interesting thing on it. Hopefully your letter (which was good despite the grammar/spelling) will get a response and maybe CN will learn a little and kill off all this ridiculous live action crap. Keep us updated.

I haven't watched CN since they stopped airing Shin Chan

Its a tv network it wont reach anyone but the complaint department. I understand perfectly and its not just CN as I used to watch it all the time [adult swim] mind you back when I was in high school years ago. the funny thing though all channels have declined in the last 5 years. Every channel pretty much does marathon play or reality tv. Look at USA they used to be a good channel also now all they do is play NCIS all day every day for the most part.
17. Posted: Sat 29th Aug 2009 19:46 BST
If CN keeps up like this, then it's obviously because it works, don't you think?Sure I miss the old shows like Tom & Jerry, Ed Edd n Eddy, Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines, Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and who can forget the funny What A Cartoon series? But the truth is that you have grown up and so you feel like CN has gone downhill. It's just like all those Nintendo fanboys crying that Nintendo has forgotten their roots and the golden ages were the SNES or N64.Sure, I don't like the new cartoons and changes that occur on CN, but my time with CN has long passed. I was a little kid when I watched CN back in the 90's. Those times have gone now and there is a newer generation who has taken the place as CN's viewers. What if this new generation is happy with how CN is today? Shouldn't they be allowed to enjoy the new cartoons without having us old farts complaining about CN's new direction? If you love those old cartoons so much, then go find them on DVD or VHS.

I have to agree with you there and could not have said it better. I have 3 nieces and they when CN is on they are glued to the screen and they cannot hear another thing. I do not watch it for anything but Family Guy and King of the Hill on [adult swim] and I doubt I ever outgrow those two shows.

Yup, I've had the displeasure of giving each one of those shows a chance...The Othersiders: Fake as crap, despite it being a part of CN "Real."Destroy, Build, Destroy: Mythbusters wannabe, plus I'm pretty sure the host is hyped up on crack most of the time...Brain Rush: Makes me weep for society...people should not be getting these questions wrong! Do NOT blame the roller coaster! Totally staged...Dude, What Would Happen?: Knew it was a bad idea as soon as I heard the name, and the actual show didn't prove me otherwise. A bunch of doped up "teenagers" do insane(ly stupid) things to see what happens...However, I mostly realized that they never did ANYTHING! Only the staff, who have been retardedly named "lab dudes", do all the work, while the guys do stupid things with the results... Bobby Says: I lied. I haven't seen this, and I feel proud to say that I'm never going to!
Shows like this make me wonder who this channel's target audience is. They have slightly mature shows like Total Drama Island/Action, 6Teen, and Stoked (All of which I'm pretty sure were made by the same people...), and then they have this entertainment garbage that could only entertain an elementary school student...
I'm working on a game that's coming out soon!
