According to 1up, Miyamoto states that he feels that the Star Fox series was losing a number of fans (One of the reasons another one hasn't been developed yet.) But yet again they ask Cuthbert about it who states that one isn't in developement.(Who wouldn't guess.) How would you guys look at that?

Well J-Man with my knowing of this topic i think that with Wii Sports Resort they came out with that over head flying thing. Anywho i think there is a Star Fox in the Giant brainstorming pot that is Nintendo but they might wanna keep it on the down low

Well who knows. This is just what he said. Didn't say anything about a confirmation did I?
4. Posted: Wed 28th Oct 2009 05:16 GMT
nope you didnt i was just stating my thoughts on it
5. Posted: Wed 28th Oct 2009 05:19 GMT
Oh. Fair enough. He said that he is a big fan himself over the series. But he doesn't see many fans over in Japan.
6. Posted: Wed 28th Oct 2009 05:21 GMT
well thats interesting i thought i started over there and got big so they kinda started it over here
7. Posted: Wed 28th Oct 2009 05:24 GMT
You don't mean they already started a thread do you.
8. Posted: Wed 28th Oct 2009 05:30 GMT
no i meant that i thought Star Fox got big in Japan and then got developed for over here
9. Posted: Wed 28th Oct 2009 05:34 GMT
It did but they think that they're losing their fanbase. Which is a ridiculous thing to think considering that I know alot of people who love the franchise.

I love me some old school star fox. star fox 64 is one of my favorite N64 games. I'd love a sequel that got back to its roots of flying around and shooting stuff.

We're getting Sin & Punishment 2 ffs, and that was never supposed to happen. Starfox can't die, he musn't. If we don't see a Starfox Wii I will be very surprised (and upset to).
Never give up... etc...

My favourite thread of the day.
The StarFox minigame in WarioWare was amazing - more of that, please.
Incidentally, at Eurogamer yesterday I was watching people play Assassin's Creed II and heard some guy next to me say "do a barrel roll!" Honestly...
I am not ignoring you. I just do not post much.

I read about this elsewhere and someones thoughts hit me, over the comment that the series has been loosing fans and although I enjoyed some of the later games, the original 2 are still by far the best on the SNES and N64. They need to look at why those two where successful. Where did it go wrong? well that is up for debate, but they have tried to expand from the original formula which may or may have not helped.
But not the end check this link if it has not been posted already. http://www.shadowsoflylat.net/media.php

@Nes_Boy64: That looks good dude, but I couldn't bring myself to play it, bit of a purist when it comes to Nintendo.
I'm currently working through my VC, attempting to 100% (again) all the games I have downloaded and not played. This thread has pushed me in the direction of Lylat Wars. Yay.
I really hope Nintendo haven't given up on the franchise, especially now we have motion+, which as we already know from WSR, makes flying fun. Ya might break your arm whilst trying to outmaneuver enemies though.

The Star Fox series doesn't deserve to die, but its currnet situation is Nintendo's fault. The last proper game was released 13 years ago and the Gamecube saw nothing but two crappy spinoffs. The DS game was alright, but not what fans wanted at all.

Let me put it this way: If the characters at any point exit their ship, the game designers have already failed. StarFox fans want 3D space shooting. Anything else is...

Idc what style of game it is. Once, and if, the new Starfox comes out, I'll buy it.

@Prosody: that meme's been kept alive thanks to places like YTMND. Too bad their epic plan to get Optimus Prime to say it in the first Transformers movie didn't work out. :3

Save Star Fox? Easy. Make a Star Fox game that's what the fans want; i.e. aerial dogfighting all the way through.
